7 Days of Outfits: Snow! + Winter Whites

Last week was full of great outfits! I fell in love with my white pants, wore my leather jacket twice and took it easy in the middle of the week when we had a snow day.

I didn’t have a lot of wow outfits, but I had quite a few successful ones. Here’s what I’ve been wearing…

 MONDAY:

Cardigan, c/o Grana (no longer available) | Henley, c/o Tradlands, sold out | Belt (old) | Skinny Jeans (28), c/o Everlane | Cons, Thrifted (love this USA made option) | Petra Backpack, c/o Everlane (currently on sale!)

I don’t wear tennis shoes a lot, but when I do, I love them. They are a great reminder to me not to take life so seriously (which I tend to do). I went for casual-cozy on this Monday. Snow was in the forecast, and I just wanted to be warm! The thick, long sleeve undershirt plus the cashmere cardigan did the trick. It’s amazing how a solid base layer will keep you warm.

Style Notes: I like the mixed leather colors here, the black sneakers help tie in the black bag. I also love the playfulness of the backpack and the sneakers together. Those two items make a seemingly mom-ish outfit (long cardigan and skinny jeans) more interesting.

Style Score: 8.75

TUESDAY:

Down Parka (M), Patagonia (exact same in navy, runs small) | Black Denim (27), c/o Everlane | Rain Boots c/o Alice + Whittles, use the discount code SLOWFASHION to get $15 off your order

And the snow came down! We had one early release from school, followed by an entire snow day, and then a delayed start day. Needless to say, we were off schedule last week, which, for the most part, was rather nice.

Style Notes: I kept my look pretty basic and warm. One thing I do not like about tall boots is the way they highlight any knee-bagging on pants, which tends to happen if you wear your pants more than once between washes.

Style Score: n/a … Not going to grade this one, it’s more tactical than style driven! ;)

WEDNESDAY:

Waffle Knit Sweater, c/o Everlane, sold out, (very similar) | Skinny Jeans (28), c/o Everlane | Rain Boots c/o Alice + Whittles, Use the discount code SLOWFASHION to get $15 off your order | Bandana, Only Child, sold out

This is me keeping cozy, and trying just a little bit to be pulled together. This waffle knit sweater is one of the warmest I own, while simultaneously being non-bulky and layering easily under coats.

Style Notes: I don’t usually like the way this sweater looks all the way by itself (hello square shoulders) so I usually add a jacket or a necklace. Today I opted for a colorful bandana instead! I think this is the most at home I’ve felt yet in a handkerchief.

Style Score: 8.75

THURSDAY:

Leather Jacket (S), Reformation x Veda | Rib Tee, c/o Michael Stars | Belt (new!) | Jeans, Vintage Levi’s (501) (very similar) | Chelsea Boots (9.5) , Everlane | Coin Necklace, Nashelle | Crescent Necklace, c/o Loop Jewelry | Cross Body Clutch, c/o Velé

Thursday was a super special day because Mr. Seasons and I had tickets to go see Mat Kearney! I dressed in my concert-best before heading out the door for our date. I wore these boots and purse to the last concert I went to and they are both perfect for the occasion. The shoes are sleek, but still comfortable, and the leather very tolerant if they get stepped on. The bag is ultra slim and small, just the right size for a phone, lipstick, ID and cash. Since it was freezing out, I also topped the look with a big wool coat!

Style Notes: I rarely layer necklaces, but the look felt plain with just one, so I went “wild” and wore two. It made my simple shirt feel a little more jazzed up than normal.

Style Score: 9.5

FRIDAY:

T Sweater, c/o Jamie + the Jones (similar style) | White, Modern BF Jeans (28, with altered waist), Everlane | Isa Boot, c/o Nisolo | Angle Cuff, c/o Moulton (I’m giving away one over on Instagram!)

I was very satisfied with how this outfit came together. I’ve been wanting to pull off a white + cream combo for at least the last year, but it’s taken me a long time to track down the right pants. I love this outfit. And it can easily be interchanged with many of my favorite shoes (clogs, day heel, mules). Expect to see this one again!

On Friday night I met up with some friends for dinner, and before I left the house I had exactly five minutes to get ready. I swapped out my top for a black, silk shirt, and my brown boots for black, suede booties. I added lipstick and my leather jacket and felt like I was ready to make an entrance.

Style Notes: I love the winter whites here, and the tonal necklace is the perfect finishing piece!

Style Score: 10

SATURDAY:

Luke Fedora, via Animal Traffic | Cardiff Work Jacket in Camel, OS Regular, c/o Only Child | Camel Sweater, Everlane | White, Modern BF Jeans (28, with altered waist), Everlane | Isa Boot, c/o Nisolo | Petra Backpack, c/o Everlane (currently on sale!)

Style Notes: Can’t stop with the white pants. I wanted to style them with this jacket, and I like the overall outcome, but would have preferred a more feminine shoe. However, winter still rules. I don’t think the backpack is a winner here, but we were heading to busy kid event, and I wanted to have my hands free.

Style Score: 9

SUNDAY:

City Anorak (S), Everlane | V Neck Sweater (M), Everlane |Clyde Work Pant, olive in cotton twill, Elizabeth Suzann (similar in cotton canvas) | Clog Boots, No.6 (similar) | Day Market Tote, c/o Everlane (currently sold out) | Earrings, c/o Passage

It was ultra cold and rainy on Sunday. All I could think about was easy and warm. You can’t see it here, but I jazzed up this look with interesting earrings. But maybe they’re not doing their job if you can’t see them!

Style Notes: I feel really good about pulling off ultra practical and simple, but still interesting.

Style Score: 9

In Review:

FAVORITES: Friday

KEY LESSONS: It took me a long time to find the right pair of white pants (almost a year!), but it was worth the wait. Patience makes for more satisfying purchases!

  1. Love the winter whites! I’ve been wearing the same pair all week, but’s it’s 80 here, so “winter” is a bit generous :)
Thursday and Friday are my favorites. The leather jacket is looking more worn in and looks great with that scoop neck top and necklaces.

    1. Thanks Mel! I always love your detailed feedback. I can’t imagine 80-degree temps in the winter! I don’t think I could wear pants in that kind of heat. Although, I am sure we all acclimate to where we are. :)

  2. I’m loving your Winter White looks! I have the white Everlane boyfriend jeans as well, but have finally admitted the fit just isn’t right for me. They are great jeans, so I’m hoping to pass them along to a new home. My all time favorite jeans, the Agolde Riley, will be released in white next month. I’ve already decided that they’re next up for my 5 Piece French Wardrobe challenge!

    1. I LOVE Agolde Riley! I have two pairs and wear them weekly. So excited they will be available in white. I tried Everlane boyfriend but the pants didn’t work out. I found the sizing and wait was super frustrating. Andrea, I am like the winter looks! Super inspiring!

    2. Hi Stephanie, I had to have mine altered to make them fit right. I have long adored the Agolde Riley, but I don’t think I can handle that 26″ inseam, that’s way too much skin above my shoes! ;) I’m envious you can wear them though!

      1. Thanks for the altering info — I may look into that first.
I’m 5’4″, so 26″ is actually my ideal inseam. They hit my leg right where your white Everlane jeans hits yours. I guess one woman’s cropped jean is another woman’s ankle length! :)

  3. If you ever want to sell that Everlane waffle sweater … I am coveting it so hard. Missed my chance to snag one!

  4. The link for the leather jacket is not working. Probably sold out. What can you tell me about it? Is it made from recycled leather? How is leather made sustainable?

  5. Hi! Just curious about the white jeans… did you size down? Or are they your regular size and then you had the waist taken in?

    Thanks!

  6. Can you tell me more about the weight/feel of the Cardiff jacket? I’m considering purchasing either the linen or cotton, but I’m looking for indoor wear (cardigan or blazer substitute). Any information would be appreciated.
