Aliya Wanek just opened up the pre-order for their fall denim collection, and it is gorgeous. This jacket looks like the perfect mid-layer.
Esby just released a special, one-of-a-kind collection; so many of the items went fast! The long quilted jacket was my favorite. It sounds like they are taking note of the favorites and might consider bringing them back next fall.
Madewell is currently running their insiders sale, which means 20% off everything site-wide. I ordered their new straight leg overalls and I shared my styling/vetting process on Instagram stories. If you’re interested but missed it, let me know and I can put it in my highlights. I really wanted these pants too, but was concerned they’d be a little short.
I keep seeing crescent bags everywhere, and I am digging on this nylon version!!!
I always love reading a good interview with another Portland mom. This one was especially good and her shop looks really cute too!
A few days ago I listened to a podcast, and it’s really been stuck in my mind. Latasha Morrison interviewed Beth Moore (well known evangelist and Bible teacher) for her Be the Bridge podcast. They talked about important steps of racial reconciliation and then the conversation shifted to the topic of politics. Hearing Moore talk about the problem and danger of the faith community backing Donald Trump was balm to my soul. She put into words things that have been swirling around my heart for the last four years.
What Christians won’t say about the fires. This is another one that really stuck with me. I’ll share a few quotes from the article.
Scripture makes clear that as Christians, we are called to care for the poor and vulnerable, the marginalized and hurting. I appeal to fellow Christians to consider how global warming will cause disproportionate harm to such people. The wealthy can move to cooler and less disaster-prone areas. They can afford to rebuild houses. But the poor won’t be able to escape the effects of rising oceans, wildfires, droughts, and hurricanes.
As Christians, our commitment to truth should override our historical misgivings or political allegiances.
And lastly, one more ‘hard-hitter’ for this WR, an article on the reality of climate migration, when people are forced to move because of environmental changes that make it hard to live where they once did. My husband and I listened to the audio version of this while working out and by the end we both felt like we took a peek into the future, and we didn’t like what we saw. This is hard stuff, but I definitely want to live life, and vote, with eyes wide open.
Much love to you friends
Missed your Madewell straight-leg overall styling post on Instagram stories and interested in seeing how you styled them.
Thanks for letting me know! I didn’t actually style them beyond an outfit, but I added them to my style sessions list!
I listened to that BeTheBridge podcast as well. “Balm to the soul” is the perfect definition for Beth Moore’s wisdom!
Yes!! I am so glad you enjoyed it! It was almost like a relief to listen to.
