[13/99] Un-outfit

It was bound to happen sooner or later: a non ‘outfit’ day. I snapped this pic before we headed out the door to berry pick. I like to wear all black so I don’t have to worry about stains. The over shirt was mostly because it was a little breezy.

This is the first summer I’ve picked strawberries in quite a few years, maybe seven or eight. For so long I was parenting tots, and now that they are bigger (my youngest is five) things like strawberry picking are way less daunting to tackle. It’s kind of a lovely phase of parenting to be in. They’re still young enough to want to hang out at home with the family, but old enough to be more independent people.

I’ve been enjoying our ‘slowed down’ summer schedule quite a bit! My to-do lists are much shorter each day, and I feel more relaxed, daresay, even bored! But I’m thinking about this article from the other day and embracing it. Today for the first time in a very, very long time, I (briefly) felt ‘caught up.’ There were no big work tasks lingering in front of me, no place I needed to be, and no major house chores to tackle. It almost felt foreign. But it was also delightful. Yesterday I even read part of a non-fiction book and went to bed early (by my standards). I could get used to a ‘summer slow down’ becoming a year-round thing!

UN-OUTFIT DETAILS:

Chambray, J.Crew SS’15, (similar in relaxed fit)
Black Tank (old), very similar
Clyde Work Short (6) in Linen, Elizabeth Suzann, SS17

  1. I loved your ‘non-outfit’ so much that I opened «Tise» (Norwegian app for selling/buying used clothing) straight away and found myself a Levi’s shirt like that :) Now my black outfits will have a little more summerfeeling to them!
