I bought my first Pyne & Smith dress a few years ago, a beautiful white linen dress with a fitted bodice and a slightly empire waist. It’s seen many wears in the subsequent summers, and even on a few wintry days. The shape has become Pyne & Smith’s signature silhouette. But this summer they have a brand new style in the line up: the Model No.28, a swingy, voluminous, linen dress with generous pockets.
I love this departure from P&S’s traditional style because it feels modern, fresh and fun. I’ve already been wearing it for the last month or so, but wanted to take some photos with my best photographer gal to give you a better look.

The Details.
The Model No.28 dress is responsibly made in California with 100% flax linen from Europe. The linen is mid-weight, which gives it nice movement and makes it slightly less prone to wrinkles than thinner weight linens.
I am wearing a small, which measures 38.5″ long, and hits just above my knees. (For reference, I am 5’7.) The dress cuts a nice A-line shape with a modest boatneck top (that isn’t too wide for bra straps!) and as I mentioned above, it has pockets!
Pyne & Smith Model No.28 dress,* c/o, styled with Veja sneakers. Necklaces by Seaworthy (c/o) and Missoma. Bag is a vintage Dooney I’ve had in my closet for 5+ years. Sunglasses, c/o Just Human.

I love the simplicity of this dress. So versatile! Have you tried belting it?
Hi Sarah, I have not! I am not particularly keen on belts, but it’s definitely worth trying!
I belted it. Lots of fabric below the belt, but like it.
