Learning the ‘Why’
For most of my life I’ve always chosen brown over black. My affinity for warm shades runs deep, from sunsets, to orange leaves, to cognac-colored boots. But about 7 years ago, after my youngest was born, I put in some serious work to find my style (for the first time in my life!). I realized that even though I liked to look AT brown, I liked the way I looked IN black better. Which means if I am wearing brown, I almost always need to anchor it with some black. For this outfit, I got swept up in all the warm shades while I was playing around with styling some new items. And it feels a tad off for me. Next time I would swap in a black bag, or black boots, and the look would feel more tailored to my personal style.
Learning what you like is so important, and learning WHY is educational.
