Wow, we are officially in our final stretch of fall, according to the calendar. But ‘old man winter’ has already started rearing his head in Portland. Last week we had two “snow days” at school, and this week we’ve had another dump of snow. Brrrrr….. Why didn’t I get one of those long puffer jackets from Everlane before they sold out?
I digress.
Next week, I hope to pull my thoughts together in a post reflecting on my Fall Goals, favorite outfits, and what I’ve learned. I also intend to set some winter goals, and share a few things I’ve added to my closet.
But let’s talk about these beautiful clogs.

First, you are probably wondering, did I really wear these clogs with bare ankles? In the middle of a cold snap? Yes! I did on Monday. But, that’s all I’m going to tell you (right now), because I am currently in the middle of a month long winter test run with these beauties. You see, back in October, I mentioned how I wanted to buy a pair of Bryr Clogs, but I just didn’t feel they were the best choice for the fall and winter months.
Well, I’ve officially been challenged by the folks at Bryr, who say their clogs are heartier and warmer than I might think. They kindly let me pick out a style, made them just for me, and now I’m putting them to the test. I’ll report back in full sometime in January after my experiment is finished.
Since it’s currently snowing like crazy, I’ll be living in sweaters for the rest of this week. Maybe even two sweaters at once.
Stay cozy friends!
Andrea
Those clogs are beautiful! Can’t wait to hear you report back on them! Stay warm – I can’t remember the last time I saw this much snow around these parts :)
Thanks Stacy! I hope you guys have been staying warm too!
Love that strap around the heel. But I’m cold just looking at your ankles! haha j/k. They would look great with thick wool socks in aubergine or marled tan. I’ve been wearing wool socks with my Vionic relax slippers and Birks for quick errands and walking the dog and my feet have stayed really warm in 30-40 degree weather! =)
Ha! I know what you mean, it’s gotten decidedly colder around here lately. So far I’ve found wool tights and merino socks work nicely! :) I wish thick wool socks, but these clogs are a little more fitted than ones I’ve worn before.
Wool socks and Birks, I love it! Takes me back to being a teenager. ;)
The clogs really bring the look together, you look fantastic! Thank you for the Grana review, I think it enables me to take a plunge with them.
Thanks Liza, the clogs have been fun to wear!
Good luck with Grana. Let us know how it works out for you!
LOVE those clogs. Can’t wait to see what you think of them later on! I never thought clogs would be making a comeback, but they look so much better to me now than how I remember them. Maybe it’s just because I’m an old lady inside?
Haha, I think I’m an old lady on the inside too. Better than the other way I suppose??
Yes, clogs are back for sure! And so are Danskos, I keep seeing those around a ton too!
You’re so lucky! I’ve always wanted a pair of Bryr clogs, but I’ll never be able to afford them, I’m afraid.
Hi Sarah, I hear that, they are quite expensive! But they are all handmade in the US, and you would be supporting a small business owned and run by women. If it’s still out of reach, there are lots of inexpensive alternative clog brands on the market. Best of luck!
