[ shirt | sweater, Zady (sold out) (similar here and here) | jeans | boots, c/o Everlane ]
The other day I was doing some online browsing over at Everlane and one of their styled shots caught my eye. The sophisticated-coolness factor of the outfit resonated with me. And, upon further inspection, I realized I could recreate nearly the same look from what was in my closet. So I copied it. I love it when inspiration hits, it’s so much more fun to get dressed.
Do you ever copy outfits you see?
I definitely find inspiration all over, on the streets, in stores, on other blogs, and it’s so fun to channel that creative energy toward getting dressed. I don’t often copy an outfit head to toe though. But I did this time and I’m not mad about it!
In other news… Does anyone else have an election hangover? It has been such a long, unfortunate season. While the outcome is shocking, I’m truly glad the campaign is over. I’ll be praying for the next four years. I’m hopeful for our country, and our checks and balances. I’m also thankful to be a part of the democratic process. It’s going to be an interesting ride for sure.
xo,
Andrea
P.S. I have something very special and personal to share with you guys tomorrow, and I can’t wait! Stay tuned!
copying outfits is WHAT I DO. I might have even copied one or two of yours… :)
Ha! Right back at ya!
I think 90% of my outfits are copied from blogs or Pinterest! Lovin’ that Zady sweater on you…I’m bummed it’s sold out! I’m STILL having election hangover…… While I am not thrilled with the outcome to say the least, I do have hope that the President Elect can put our country on a better path financially.
Oh man, the hangover continues… :/
Thanks, I really like the Zady sweater too, it’s just really heavy though!
When I’m feeling the wardrobe blues I will scan through my pinterest boards to gain inspiration. I keep a number of “wear” boards. One big one initially with everything that I fancied but now I also keep a work wear attire board and a travel wear board since I live in a tropical climate but travel to the PNW each fall/winter. We were in Cannon Beach & Portland shortly before your rainy weather post, the week in October that there was two storms and we managed to stay dry. I found your post so helpful as I didn’t understand what the deal was with waxed cotton but now I get it. Let me tell you, I am so picky now about outerwear since I’ve started to visit Oregon & Seattle. It needs to hold up during 4 hours of 40 degrees mist at a Huskies game! I don’t copy head to toe but I definitely get inspired or reminded that a white T will break up all the black or that an oversized topper can look great over BF jeans if you show a little ankle or that cognac boots do look great with all other neutrals, that kind of thing. Btw I love your blog and your style! I’m much shorter than you so can’t pull off the same items but there are petite options that are similar. I’m a fairly new reader.
Hi Tania!! Great feedback! How cool that you come to the PNW regularly. You’re right, outerwear is so crucial! Nobody wants to be wet. I really like your idea of hitting pinterest for inspiration when you’re feeling the wardrobe blues. And great point about a little ankle when wearing over-sized, that little sliver of skin goes a long way!
Thanks for reading, so glad you’re here!
