the Weekly Rundown: Labor Day Sales + Monica Lewinsky + Kids on the Internet

There are some big Labor Day sales happenings this weekend and, if you already know what you want to buy for fall, it might mean a chance for some significant savings.

Dear Frances has their entire site 20% off including their ever-popular Park Boots. You can see my YouTube review of mine here. I do wish I had purchased the tan instead of the dark brown.

Jenni Kayne is also offering 20% off sitewide, including their cashmere cocoon cardigan that I wear constantly. (I’m wearing it right now as I type!) Note: it runs quite large, consider sizing down 1 or 2 times.

Everlane has a pretty big sale going on too, though most of the items are summer items. You can see my picks here.

Madewell also has their summer stock on sale, but I’m a little more distracted by their cute fall arrivals! I love this flannel and this oversized chore coat.

We all owe Monica Lewinsky an apology. Yep. Full stop.

I miss blogs being a place on the internet where people shared openly and honestly about their feelings and life. So I really enjoyed reading Alyson Haley’s honest and raw update about how life has been now that she is a mom.

Do you share pictures of your kids online? I do it pretty sparingly, but Jess Ann Kirby’s write up about taking her daughter off the internet is making me think long and hard.

How to Wear Eye Shadow Over 40. I am not over 40, but I do have hooded eyes. This post was really insightful for me, and there’s a helpful tutorial at the end!

Things that make your home look dated. I love learning about how to make my home look better, this is not my forté! I often know what I like and don’t like, but I rarely know the why. This video was helpful.

Mr. Seasons and I are itching for the new Wonder Years show to premiere. I think it’s going to be one the whole family can watch together.

I continue to be obsessed with The Rise and Fall of Mars Hill podcast, but this bonus episode is particularly poignant. Host Mike Cosper interviews Joshua Harris of I Kissed Dating Goodbye fame. They discuss Harris’ deconstruction journey, and Cosper leaves his audience with some excellent takeaways on the topic.
