ABLE Review: Merly Jacket, Anita Boho Blouse + More

Do you ever have items in your closet that feel like old friends? The kind you reach for over and over because they are comfortable on your body, and they make you feel good when you wear them (and they go with everything)?

Today I have a review post for you guys, featuring a few items from one of my longtime favorite labels, ABLE. This includes one item that’s been an old friend in my closet for some time now, their distressed denim jacket. I’m also reviewing a beautiful, puff-sleeved top and a pair of earrings I just got.

I am sharing all three of these today because I think they are great for now (summer weather) and will also be awesome for later when the weather cools!

And just for fun, the team at ABLE sent a discount code for me to share with you guys! If you see anything you like down below you can use the code ANDREA25 to save 25%!

MERLY JACKET (gifted in Spring 2019)

The Merly Jacket is different from most other denim jackets I’ve tried because it’s made from soft, non-stretchy, almost drapey material. It’s 75% cotton and 25% lyocell, the latter is what makes it so soft! Naturally, this is the number one reason why I love it, it just feels good to wear. It’s so comfortable and not restricting at all.

The jacket is also unique in that the fit is oversized, but it drapes kind of close to the body (thanks to the fabric!). That means the overall look of it is relaxed/casual but still feminine. It’s truly different from any other jean jacket I’ve tried (and I’ve tried a lot!). I’ve found this shape and fit pairs well with a variety of outfit styles, which I love. Judging from the photos above, I tend to wear it the most with wide leg pants! I also like the jacket with jeans and over dresses.

I was drawn to this jacket because of the distressing, it gives it a lot of character, and makes me feel a little bit more cool and chill than I am.

I am wearing a medium in the Merly Jacket (my go-to size for most items from a variety of brands), and the fit is just a touch oversized and I love it. If you click on ‘Size Guide’ on the jacket listing, you can see two different sizes on the same person, side-by-side to get a better idea of the fit!

ANITA BOHO BLOUSE (gifted this summer)

The Anita Boho Blouse turned out to be a stunner in more ways than I expected! It’s made with a soft, textured cotton and it’s lined with an extra layer of ultra lightweight cotton. I like that I don’t have to worry about showing my bra, AND, I think the 2-layer top works well for both moderate summer days (I’ll probably wear it with shorts later this week when the temp drops to 75F), and cooler seasons. So often I end up skipping my floaty blouses when it gets cold out because they are too thin, but I am excited to try wearing this one into the fall! The extra layer in the body will come in handy, and it will look cute under my favorite chunky cardigans.

I had a hard time pairing down photos for this section because this blouse is just so pretty! I love it with both the skirt and the jeans, and of course I can’t wait to pair it with cut off shorts. I will forever be team ‘big sleeves’!!

The Anita Boho Blouse is currently marked down AND you can use my Andrea25 discount to save an extra 25%. That makes it $70.50! (It also comes in a really pretty blush color.) The cuff I am wearing in all the photos is from ABLE too. My husband bought it for me several years ago as an anniversary present and I never take it off!

LUXE HOOPS, 2″ (gifted this summer)

Gold hoops are my favorite earrings to wear, in all sizes and thicknesses. The Luxe Hoops from ABLE come in two sizes: 2″ and 2.5″ – I am wearing the smaller of the two here. I love that these make a big impact, but are still understated because they’re ultra thin. (This also makes them very lightweight!) The Luxe Hoops are made from gold-fill metal which means they shouldn’t darken or tarnish like brass. Aka, they are low-maintenance, which I also like. These hoops are easy to wear, and I look forward to wearing them with plain white t-shirts, a makeupless face and a semi-bold lip color.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today! And for looking at my 101 photos!

xx

  1. Love these! My jean jacket is a favorite in my closet. It’s such a classic essential item that withstands the test of time. Tell me more about those pink? suede? clogs! Those look gorgeous!

  2. Gah I’ve been so tempted by that jacket for a week now! I am debating between my normal size and one size up. How does the TTS fit on the arms? My last denim jacket was tight on the arms and I never wore it for that reason. I don’t mind a little slouchy oversized for over skinny jeans but I don’t want it too baggy or too tight!

    1. Hi Amanda! It is nice and loose on the arms! I don’t like tight denim on my arms either, especially at the elbows. If you want to layer it a lot, maybe size up?

      1. Thank you! I ordered it in my true size so hopefully it fits well! I love Able and their things are always so well made.
