The Cloud Cardigan by muumuu: Winter’s Antidote

It’s deep winter here in the PNW, and alllll I want to do in the morning is grab the softest and warmest sweater off my shelf and wrap myself up in it. So it feels like the perfect time to share a special, new sweater with you guys. It’s warm (made almost entirely from alpaca!) and makes getting dressed a little more fun.

This week on Seasons + Salt I’m doing things a little differently. I will be spending the next few days featuring my latest cardigan obsession, the Cloud Cardigan by muumuu. It’s a dreamy, floaty, cozy, sweater, the kind that feels like a hug when you put it on.

These posts are part of a partnership with muumuu – that means I’ll be hosting a discount code for anything in muumuu’s shop, and Seasons + Salt will make small commission on any purchases made.

Alright, let’s dig in!

The Specs.

The Cloud Cardigan is ultra cozy because it’s 89% alpaca and 11% polyamide which makes it warm, soft and lightweight. It honestly feels too good to be true! The cardigan features loose, balloon sleeves, with fitted wrists, and a slight swing cut on the backside.

It’s responsibly made in Lima, Peru in a network of family-owned factories. It comes in two sizes: S/M and M/L. The sweater is priced at $288, but you can use my discount code (see below) to take 15% off, bringing it to $244.80.

Styling.

I’ve been daydreaming about this sweater for some time, and I’ve been spending the last week styling it with all my closet favorites. Today’s outfit is probably the simplest and easiest way I will wear it: with my favorite jeans and a white tee. The shoes will rotate, based on the weather, and I may add a more colorful bag, but this basic outfit will undoubtedly see many rotations. I also spent some time seeing how it would pair with summer dresses and spring jumpsuits, and I was quite pleased with the outcome. I’ll share more next week over on IGTV.

muumuu.

Muumuu is an up-and-coming California-based label that focuses on making small batch, timeless womenswear. Everything is made from natural fibers, as local as possible and with the utmost care. The idea behind muumuu is to create beautiful items, meant for everyday – work, play, parenting.

You may remember I partnered with muumuu last year around this time. I wore two of their linen jumpsuits (which I still have and love!) for a few weeks to see how they fit into my everyday life. It was a lot of fun. In fact, I think I need to bring them to the front of my closet to get some more wear out of of them.

Coming Soon.

Check this space each day for the rest of this week for a few more ways I’ll be styling this cardigan during the cold months, and next week you can catch me styling it on Instagram for spring. The merits of a lightweight, skin-friendly sweater mean multi-season use!

  1. Hi! If this cardigan is made in Lima, it was made in my town! Any chance I could visit the place it was made, perhaps ypu could ask the people at muumuu? (For example, I have visited Trujillo many times and have yet been unable to even contact the factory where Nisolo is made)
That brings me to another thing – you have featured at least two brands that make their products close to me. Yet if i wanted to buy their products they would have to be shipped from the US, which is a ridiculous waste of energy and resources. Perhaps these brands should consider having a small local showroom/factory store where their products can be obtained locally (at a lower price, since there would be no shipping involved). Perhaps even a pop up format happening a few times a year or so. Now that would be sustainable!

    1. Hi Rosabella, I love these ideas! I imagine there are some logistical factors – ie some places my not be set up to have public visitors, or they may be unable to do sales transactions – but it’s definitely worth exploring! I would recommend emailing them with your ideas!
