Renegade Craft Fair

We have been seeing some cooler temps around these parts lately, including rain. I popped into the awesome Renegade Craft Fair over the weekend, and got totally drenched in a rainstorm. Crazy for July, but this is Oregon.

The fair was amazing (from what I saw of it). We darted in and out quicker than I wanted because we were getting so wet. I didn’t check out as much of the jewelry as expected, instead I was totally eying all the leather goods! Lots of beautiful items. I tried on this amazing drawstring bucket bag by Minnie + George that converts to a backpack. Talk about on-trend! It was so cool to talk to the person who made it. She told me that she makes all her bags BY HAND! Even the stitching. She explained to me how hand-stitching is stronger than machine stitching because if one stitch breaks the seam doesn’t run like it would with machine stitches. I would have purchased the bag on the spot but my husband might have killed me. I did spend a few minutes contemplating if that would have been a small price to pay.

(Please forgive my cell phone quality pictures here. The rain scared me off from bringing my nice DSLR.)

I also spent some time eying the bags of Umbrella Collective (such a fitting name). They were classic and sleek looking. Despite the rain, the Fair was still pretty darn cool. If you’re in any of the upcoming cities, I encourage you to check it out!

  1. How fun! LOVE that Minnie + George bag! Doesn’t look like a craft fair is near me and it takes place in Chicago the week before I head there. Bummer!

  2. Cute jacket! I also love the look of bucket bags, but have never really gotten around to getting used to getting in and out of them easily. I’ve kind of been stuck on cloth totes lately, despite having a proper tote!
