What I Wore in December

Hello! Wow, a little bit of time has transpired since my last outfit roundup. My life has changed pretty significantly in the past few months. In October, after passing the Oregon and National real estate exams, I got my license transferred to my brokerage, and have hit the ground running on building and growing a real estate business. I joined a great team, got to co-list a property right away, have been doing open houses most weekends, and am enjoying taking my buyers to look at homes all over Portland. I can’t believe I get to say this, but I love every aspect of this business so far. It’s been very rewarding.

Naturally, my relationship with clothes has changed. What I prioritize in an outfit is different. I need clothes that make me feel professional and a little bit elevated. This means I am wearing a lot more blazers, button up shirts, and heeled boots. I still haven’t figured out the pants part of the equation, some feel too dressy and others too casual. In recent weeks I have incorporated more jeans into my outfits. Learning what to wear while working in this new role is and continues to be a learning process, but it’s one I am enjoying.

I love the colors of this one, but am not 99% sold on the denim shape for this outfit. To be honest, I am struggling with denim silhouettes right now. My only fail-safe is the Agolde 90’s jeans, everything else feels hit or miss. I’m still hoping to find the perfect wide/straight leg jeans someday.

Shirt, c/o
Jeans
Boots (I sized up)

*This* is my open house outfit. I have worn this at least three times for hosting open houses. I have found it really helpful to land on a solid outfit, and then just rewear it, instead of investing the energy in creating something new all the time. It frees my mind to think about other details. Of course, when the inspiration comes I will certainly change it up.
