My Fall Shopping List + Items I Can’t Wait to Wear Again

My kids are officially back at school this week, and I can hardly believe that summer break has come and gone. It’s still hot, but mentally and practically the summer chapter has closed for us. I love this season, and I look forward to it all year long, which makes it hard to say goodbye. But I think my kids were starting to feel a little bored at home, and I am starting to feel a little bit bored with my summer clothes. Which means, it’s time to talk about fall!

This year, I haven’t spent much time scouring pinterest or Instagram for ideas. This is kind of nice because my own style instincts have begun to fill in the blanks for me, instead of them being filled by someone else. It also means I don’t have a huge fall wish list. Currently, my list sits at about two items long, but I have already added a few things to my closet, and there will probably be more to come later in the season.

Fall Shopping List

Agolde Mid Rise Relaxed Boot. I am looking for a jean with some shape to add to my closet for this fall and winter. I have a lot of straight leg jeans, which are great, but sometimes I want a different silhouette to style. With straight leg jeans I often use the top half of my outfit to lend shape to my overall look. My hope with a relaxed boot cut style is that I could rely on the denim to create more shape in my outfit and easily pair the jeans with some of my oversized or block-ish sweaters and jackets.

Additionally, I think I am on the cusp of accepting that full length denim is not my favorite. An inseam that hits right at my ankle feels a lot easier to style and seems to pair a lot better with a variety of footwear.

Maguire Palma Boots. I discovered these over the summer and I am ‘patiently’ waiting for them to restock in September. I am looking for a comfortable, low-heeled boot that can be worn in a professional setting. I love the flat, square toe box of this boot and I think they would look great peeking out under trousers or with cropped jeans. I will likely opt for black, but the color options in this boot are outstanding.

Runner up: I have been on the hunt for plaid pants, but I have not found ones I love yet. I tried some on at Reformation last year that I loved but never bought. I believe some of my favorite brands will be releasing plaid pants in the coming weeks/months. I’ll keep you posted!

Already Added

With my work transition in mind, I’ve been trying to give that side of my wardrobe a little attention. I just upgraded to a Gorjana x Fitbit watch and I looooove it. I waited and saved for several months before I got it. I also added a blouse, sailor pants and a stunning taupe leather jacket, you can see them all in this post.

It’s hard to think about sweaters right now, but I chose this one through some pre-fall gifting from Everlane. The crop and the color are what sold me! I also added these High Rise Cigarette Pants* that I can’t wait to share with you guys. They are super stretchy and comfortable, and I think they’ll be a great work look with oversized poplin shirts, chunky sweaters and loafers. *gifted from Vince

Excited to Wear Again

And, more than anything, I am excited to wear my cold-weather favorites! These are the items I wore over and over last year (and some in previous years!), that have become closet heroes for me.

Everlane Renew Long Liner* – This was easily my most worn jacket of fall and winter! It’s extremely practical for my cold, but not-too-cold climate, and looks good with everything. The drape and the shape are just right for layering over the biggest sweaters and all shapes of jeans. I also love that it feels light on my body, heavy coats that feel like they’re pulling me down are not my favorite. The only downside is that I usually need to carry an umbrella. But show me a cute coat that has hood, never seen one! *gifted

Agolde 90s and 90s Pinch – I have these in a few different variations, but the ones pictured above are my favorites! I sized down in the 90s, and took my usual size in the 90’s Pinch. The 90s style in particular I feel like I can wear with just about anything.

Merly Jacket* – I’ve already started wearing this one again. It’s hard to go wrong with the distressing, ultra soft fabric, and body-skimming fit. I’ve been wearing this one for years, and have no plans of stopping. I wear it in a medium. Use ANDREA15 to save 15. *gifted

Chunky Boots – These bold numbers are a wet weather staple for me. The Dr. Martens in Sinclair Platform and Freda Salvador’s Emi Boots are my chunky boots of choice! You can use my code 15ANDREA to save on your first order from FS.

Oversized Black Blazer* – This was an unexpected hit for me last year. It’s another bold item, but I love pairing it with ultra simple basics to create a minimal and interesting look. My challenge to myself this year is to create some business casual looks with it that don’t feel too over the top. Wish me luck! *gifted

Babaà Sweater – I’ve loved this sweater brand for years, but this was my first non-cardigan purchase from them, and I wore this sweater many, many times last fall and winter. The oversized shape feels like an instant outfit. And best of all, it feels like a blanket of warmth on a cold winter’s day!

Thanks for the walk down memory lane with me. What are you excited to buy or rewear this fall? For more styling fun you can see my ever changing Fall-Winter pinterest board.
