the Weekly Rundown: Spring Style Inspo, Setting Better Work Boundaries + a Few Recent Additions

Happy Mother’s Day weekend to those who are celebrating. And for those whom this holiday is a struggle, I hope you feel seen, understood and loved. The photo above is from Mother’s Day seven years ago when my kiddos were much younger. Mamas of littles – it goes astonishingly fast.

What I’ve been reading around the web lately:

How to set better work boundaries, a few ideas. This is extremely relevant in our work from home era. It’s way too easy to blur the lines between “on” and “off.”

Revisiting the Christian fantasy novels that shaped decades of conservative hysteria. This was like cracking open a time capsule! I read some of these books during my youth and it’s fascinating to look at them with a more discerning eye.

Lo’s spring wardrobe inspiration is spot on; I particularly resonate with this sentence, “I’m enjoying the spectrum between romantic puff tops to dad fashion, with color making it a cohesive vibe.” I admire how well she has distilled and put a finger on what she plans to wear this season.

Even in yards and landscaping, design trends are cyclical. Here are three retro trends that are making a comeback.

15 Trader Joe’s Hack You Should Try, according to Employees. I’m adding the orange chicken burritos to my list!

Spring Shopping:

If a maxi dress* is on your list, this double gauze one from Able is super cute. See it on me here, where I also linked my strapless bra. As always, you can use my discount code ANDREA15 to save.

Just a heads up, Madewell has all of their summer dresses and shorts 20% off through Monday (use code WARMUP). See some easy warm weather outfits I put together here.

Last week, in my newsletter I mentioned I’ve been hunting for a white summer blouse, well this is the one I finally landed on! It’s ultra light, a little bit cropped, and it runs big so I sized down.

I’ve been spending way too much energy looking for my unicorn wide/straight leg jeans, and these come pretty darn close! But I am looking for full length. Will be holding out until the fall now.

I have been sleeping in this ‘All Ease Sleep Set‘* from Pact, and I think it’s going to be my go-to this summer! The fabric is ultra soft and feels so good on my skin. The pants are nice and breezy. And I love that it’s organic cotton. (Use code ANDREA20 to save on your first order!)

On Seasons + Salt:

I always like looking back at what I was wearing a year ago, it’s fun to observe what, if any, style traits have changed. These are three spring outfits I would likely wear again.

ICYMI, a new YouTube video dropped last week. It’s a bit of a nerdy, deep dive on baggy jeans. This Sunday a new one hits, featuring my favorite summer bags. Stay tuned!

  1. Hey Andrea, I don’t think I received your newsletter. I am excited to see it. Is there a separate place to sign up to be on its mailing list? Thanks!
