Mini Coat Review: the Long Mac Coat, the ReNew Long Liner, the ReWool Peacoat and the ReNew Long Puffer

It’s that time of year… where my coats basically ARE my outfits. Whenever I leave the house I am wearing one in some shape or fashion: thin, thick, rain-ready, long, short, etc. And today, I am sharing a brief write-up of my favorites from Everlane!

This post is sponsored by Everlane. As always, all thoughts, ideas and opinions are my own. You can check out the companion Reel over on Instagram! It’s my first Reel with a voice over and I’m excited for you guys to see it.

For the purposes of this post I’ll be sharing the coats in order of lightest to warmest. I’ll include all the sizing info and what I like about the coats. If there’s anything I missed, feel free to ask me in the comment down below.

The Long Mac Coat

I was thrilled when I saw Everlane release this jacket because it reminds me of all the vintage trenches I love. It has that oversized fit, the big, wrap around vent and the a-line shape. And, as someone who perpetually takes belts off coats, I love that this has no belt.

This jacket is definitely heavier and thicker than the Drape Trench, which is very light. The Long Mac coat is great for fall and spring, and anyone who has a super mild winter. I’ve noticed that it also works really well with the ReNew Long Liner! I have both jackets in a medium and they easily layer together (see below).

I am wearing the long Mac Coat in a size Medium. It’s 100% cotton and lined with 100% polyester. The jacket has a water resistant finish but, if I’m going to be in the rain, I grab a little black umbrella because I don’t like my head getting wet. I love the long length, it’s great for keeping everything else dry! This jacket looks great with dresses, leggings and, of course, jeans.

ReNew Long Liner

I hope you’re not tired of seeing this coat! My enthusiasm for it does not seem to wane. I love it all over again every time I wear it. My *only wish* is that it had a hood. But I concede that it would not look as good with a hood. It would just make #rainlife a touch easier. I love this coat because it makes anything you put it over look like an intentional outfit. Here I am wearing a simple top and jeans, the addition of this coat makes it feel cool while keeping you warm. :) I really like wearing it because it’s lightweight on the body and brings a considerable amount of warmth, suitable for many of the mild-ish months we face here in Oregon. In December, I will probably need a warmer coat or make sure I’m not outside for too long.

The ReNew Liner comes in 5 beautiful colors, including this one and they’re all excellents. I love the Cinnamon and Black. My favorite feature on this coat is the two way zipper, so you can stay warm on top but give the legs plenty of room for brisk walking if needed.

ReWool Peacoat

This coat is a stylish answer to all of our favorite, loose, baggy and wide-fitting jeans and pants. I knew that immediately when I saw it. And when I tried it on in real life, it did not disappoint. This little number is great for balancing out an outfit or on a day when you just need some warmth up top. I won’t lie though, this baby is thick. It’s 76% recycled wool and definitely warm. My favorite feature is the big, beautiful peacoat style collar. This coat has a boxy, relaxed fit and I’m wearing it in my usual size medium.

And lastly, the big-daddy of all the Everlane coats! THIS is a super warm jacket. It was gifted to me from the brand back in 2018 and, ever since, it’s held the spot as ‘warmest coat’ in my closet. This season, Everlane released their Duvet Puffer and that one looks like it might be even warmer! The ReNew Long Puffer is thick and quilty and has soft wrist cuffs to keep the cold air out. The shell is water resistant, which is a major plus for me, and it’s filled with recycled PrimaLoft insulation (polyester) which is super warm. This coat comes in four colors, including this one, and it looks like the out of stock sizes will be coming back in December. Be sure to ‘waitlist’ if you’re looking for a particular one. Sometimes they come back in stock sooner.
