Yes, I won’t lie. I am starting to daydream about cooler weather and the wardrobe changes that come with it. BUT, I am determined to give summer my A+ effort while she’s still around. After all, how many days of the year do we face the challenge of wearing as few clothes as possible while remaining committed to our sartorial goals? It’s not mission: impossible, in fact, it can be quite the opposite. It’s a fun task to take on; limitations often increase creativity!
Here are three outfit formula ideas to take you through the remaining weeks of summer.
Thanks to Everlane for sponsoring this post. You can see the tandem Reel published over on my Instagram account. As always, all concepts, content, and ideas are my own.
3 Late Summer Outfit Ideas:

1 // Add a fall color.
This is a great way to give a nod to the impending season, grab a tee or even a long sleeve top (weather permitting) in your favorite autumnal hue and pair it with summer’s best cutoffs. It’s a fun way to mix in something different for the tanks you’ve been wearing all summer.

2 // Business meets casual.
Comfort is the way of the world these days, but I also love, LOVE a well-tailored shirt. Combining soft, terry cloth shorts with a smart, button-up shirt feels fresh and balanced.
I’ve been really into oversized tailored shirts and, after pinning them for a very long time, I finally have my own! This is a new release from Everlane called the Boxy Oxford Shirt. It’s loose and wide, but not particularly long. The thing that stands out the most to me is the substantial, oxford fabric. It’s soft and weighty, and I think it will be great for year-round wear. The second thing that drew me to this shirt is the front pockets. I LOVE them. It’s a slightly feminine touch on a masculine feeling shirt and I think it creates a nice balance. I tried this in my true size and a size up, and I ended up liking my true size the best. The size up felt too wide. Everlane also released a more classic oxford style shirt called the Relaxed Oxford Shirt. This one looks like it features the same great fabric, but it has a more classic, albeit relaxed, fit.

3 // Tank + baggy jeans.
If you missed it, I shared a YouTube video over the weekend featuring how to style baggy jeans, and this pair was included! I am a big fan of the shift in denim shapes right now, and I predict loose and baggy jeans are going to rocket to popularity over the next year or so. I love the way this tank – complete with a cropped fit and a mock neck – looks with loose jeans. It’s very intentional and shows off the high rise of bottoms for an intentional end-of-summer look.
