The ‘Wear Everywhere’ Dress

If I had to choose one thing to wear all summer, the answer would be easy: black linen. It the most breathable fabric in the chicest color. I’ll take it in all shapes and forms, please.

One of my favorite dressmakers – Pyne & Smith – took black linen and made it extremely wearable by creating a simple, spaghetti strap dress that’s perfect for nearly every summer occasion. Or as I like to say the ‘wear everywhere’ dress.

Don’t miss the Pyne & Smith discount code (and re-stock info) at the end of this post!

It’s a simple, knee-length frock with slip-dress vibes. There is a small tie in the back if you prefer to cinch the waist.

This is the kind of dress you can throw on after you get up on a Saturday morning, because linen is soft, and add cozy socks and a cashmere cardigan if it’s chilly. Grab your coffee and a good book and you’re all set. Or, if your day has you off to the races, throw on a tee and canvas sneakers. I wore it for a weekend BBQ a few weeks ago when it was quite hot. All I added were flip-flops! You could just as easily wear it to a summer wedding. I would pair the dress with block heels (of any color or pattern) and do my hair in a loose updo. You could finish the look with a clutch and a scarf for your shoulders.

Wearing:
Remy Rib Tee, (M) c/o
Model No. 34 Dress, (S) c/o
Sneakers, c/o
Bag, vintage

This is how I would style the dress for a date night at a local brewery.

I’ll be the first to admit, my version of dressed up is decidedly casual, but that’s summer in the PNW for you. This would also be cute with clog sandals or sleek black lace-up boots too. Truly, a good black dress can be a blank canvas.

Pyne & Smith is re-stocking this dress starting tomorrow at 9 am Pacific Time. Last time it sold out in most sizes, so I suggest you set your alarm if you have your eye on this one. Use the code SEASONS10 to save 10% on your order. Note: the discount code does not start until tomorrow, July 3rd.

I am wearing the size small and for reference I am 5’7 and my measurements are approximately 36, 29, 38 inches.

This post is in partnership with Pyne & Smith, a longtime favorite of mine. All concepts and opinions are my own.

  1. It’s fab!!! I don’t normally like spaghetti straps (or dresses even) but it really does seem like the perfect LBD
