the Weekly Rundown: the Aging Face + a ‘Charming’ French Home Renovation

Things I’ve been pinning lately: a little bit of neon. I recently came across a vintage, sleeveless Ralph Lauren button up, made with linen fabric in the prettiest neon green. I think it will be fun to experiment – very judiciously – with the bold shade in the heat of summer.

Spring inspiration: 3 ways to wear a trench coat. (I think I would wear all of these!)

I don’t tend to be a big spender on summer clothes, I usually wear the same few items I have over and over since our hot weather season is short. But I recently realized I didn’t have a long black dress in my rotation, so I ordered this one when it came back in stock this week. (I even used my own discount code! andreahartman25)

Mate the Label is having a 25% off birthday sale, and I’ll take one of everything please.

This is such a simple tip when it comes to shopping and curating your wardrobe, and it’s a surefire way to add depth to your style.

Love this smart approach to capsule wardrobes for kids!

Justine Bateman’s new book FACE is making quite the buzz. It’s about how we women feel compelled to ‘fix’ our face when we start to age. If you could see me, I am raising my hand real high over here! I have definitely struggled with the idea of my own aging face, more than I ever expected I would. What if we deconstructed the idea of a changing/aging face as a negative thing and instead viewed it as sign of value and experience? See an interview with Bateman here, along with a great article in Time.

Stacy London shares her ‘beauty uniform’ with Cup of Jo. I love her thoughts on aging and the ‘anti-aging’ industry.

The dreamer in me loves a good home tour, especially one that transports me to a totally different place! Most recently I watched Design Mom’s home tour on Instagram (they’re renovating a home from the 1600’s!). And perhaps equally as compelling are the reasons why they decided to move their family from California to Normandy, France.

Mr. Seasons and I are currently hooked on Mare of Eastown, a good old-fashioned crime show. I love that the protagonist, played by Kate Winslet, isn’t your usual perfectly-coiffed TV detective.
