the Weekly Rundown: Reducing Waste at Home + New Favorites at Everlane

This week I was so pleased to be able to stop by the REIFhaus showroom. As usual it’s always wonderful to catch up with owner/designer Lindsey Reif and preview the spring collection. Do you spy that amazing color palette? Expect to see a special Seasons + Salt discount on the blog very soon!

On Tuesday my family gathered behind my desk and we watched a livestream of the reading of the Derek Chauvin verdict. It was tense, uncomfortable and a relief all at the same time. I’ve been reading reactions to the verdict all week and this one by theologian Dennis Edwards stuck out to me the most – The Derek Chauvin Verdict Is Good. But I’m Still Groaning. If you want a glimpse into understanding what it’s like to walk in the shoes of your Black and brown brothers and sisters, read this.

9 Excellent steps for reducing waste in your home, I love and follow many of these! It’s a great reminder that all our little choices add up and to keep finding ways to be creatively cutting back on disposables (even paper towels!).

A little skincare update from me: I’ve decided to try this sunscreen (I really like it, and the subtle sheen is GREAT) and this Vitamin C serum. AND I’m making this warm weather season all about the hats. I just added this one to my rotation, perfect for keeping the sun of the sides off my face! (This is the other hat on my summer wish list. I love how chic it is.)

This style profile on Eunice Abe is so good! She’s one of my very favorites to follow on social media, I find myself continually inspired by her outfits.

Did you guys see that Everlane released a swimwear line? There are some really cute combinations. My favorite is the tie top and the green bikini! By the way, I did a big update on my Everlane favorites page, they have so many cute items for spring!

I’ve noticed lately that the brand Coach is bringing back some styles similar to the vintage ones I used to search high and low for. This Cassie Crossbody is super cute! I am always looking for a bag with top handles!

ABLE is having a big Mother’s Day sale site-wide! It goes through Tuesday, and you can use my code ANDREAMOM30 to get 30% off instead of 25%. You can see all my ABLE favorites here. (I highly recommend the Luxe Hoops, I wear mine ALL the time!)

We recently watched the Billie Eilish documentary, The World’s A Little Blurry. If you’re a fan of her music, it’s a really interesting look at her creative process and how she rose to fame.

On this weekend’s watch list: Nomadland.

Lastly: a heartwarming story about the joy of decluttering.
