Happy April! Can we believe we are this deep into the year and over a week into spring? I am full of gratitude because, between all our rainy days, we’ve had a healthy amount of sunny days. And gosh, it just makes my heart so happy. If you live in a winter rainforest like many of us in the PNW, I am sure this resonates with you.
Because I have sunshine on the brain I decided to play dress up and create a few spring outfit ideas. I mixed some of my favorite pants with tops and sandals that I am excited to wear as the weather continues to warm up.
ONE: Jeans + a Tee
I forever love the combination of jeans and a tee. This take is kind of fun because it mixes casual (distressed jeans) and a bit dressy (cute flatform shoes). I felt a little unsure at first but, after I looked at the pictures, I was sold. I finished the look with this black ReKnit bag, which is unlined and super lightweight, perfect for the warmer months.
TEE: This one is fun because it’s a shrunken version of the classic, straight-fit t-shirt.
JEANS: I thought this flap would drive me nuts, but I LOVE these jeans. TTS.
SANDALS: (c/o) These are sooo comfy and run TTS for me. (Use ANDREAHARTMAN25 to save 25%)
BAG: (c/o) Comes in two other cute colors!
TWO: Puff Sleeve Gingham + Platform Birks
This top definitely screams spring… or summer picnic. I love black and white patterns so much, and I find this black and white gingham hard to resist! I like to add a little more pattern to my outfits in the warmer months to bring visual interest since layering kind of goes out the window. This black and white gingham is perfect for that! This top is a linen blend, so it’s weighty, soft, and breathable. But I think I love the puff sleeves and cropped length the most. This is a great option for pairing with high-waisted pants and shorts. The cropped shape omits the need to deal with tucking, making for a non-fussy, easy-to-wear outfit. Plus, platform Birks: where have you been all my life?!?!
TOP: (S) Super soft. Features an elastic gathering at the bottom.
JEANS: White jeans are a lot more fun when they’re torn up. Size down.
SANDALS: Platforms win again. And yes, these are Birkenstocks.
BAG: (c/o) Love this camel shade.
THREE: Cutout Tank + Colored Jeans
There’s only a small window of weather where you can wear a tank top and jeans, and I plan to maximize it! I love the look of the clean lines of this cutout tank paired with these brown jeans. A note on the jeans: they almost feel retro and remind me a bit of Dickies, and I’m super into that. They are made from a soft twill and feel great to wear… when I finally got them in my correct size!
TANK: (M) From last summer, but it looks like they’re back in stock with lots of colors!
JEANS: I sized up 2x!
SANDALS: (c/o) These are sooo comfy and run TTS for me. (Use ANDREAHARTMAN25 to save 25%)
BAG: Small, but mighty. Love this timeless bag.
HOOPS: Bought these 1.5 years ago for their lightweight-ness and I wear them constantly.
I am also looking forward to wearing shorts and dresses, though I seem to wear more of the former when summer hits. Next week on the blog I’ll share a deep dive on denim shorts because I am sure I’m not the only person perpetually looking for the perfect pair!

I really love all of these combos! I think having amazing jeans just seals the deal on spring looks because they’re the focal point when paired with basic tanks and tees. The gingham top is so good too! And I feel like shoes highly influence the overall look of an outfit— love your choices! Shoes and denim are my fav categories!
This is such an insightful comment Michelle. You’re totally right. And maybe that’s why the emphasis on denim shorts too. Very interesting!
Those platform birks are sooooo dreamy! Yay for sunny Oregon spring days 🥰❤️.
They are quite the awesome Birks! Really a fun take on them!! Always love it when you stop by the blog dear one! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Love all of these outfits!! That gingham top!!! Still considering those Birkenstocks but I haven’t worn a shoe without a back in so long I’m afraid I’ll trip over my own feet!
Oh girl! I am a klutz, and I can do it! Birks should sorts stick to the bottom of your feet (or they are too big), so that should help! But I also think you have low volume feet compared to me, so I think our shoe experiences are probably pretty different!
