My little culinary mind was blown last week when I discovered that Instant Pot makes an air fryer attachment for most of the IP models!! For about half the price of an air fryer I bought the attachment (confusingly called a lid) and have been happily making myself crispy vegetables. I love that this thing is faster than the oven and uses way less oil.
I don’t know how to close this weekend’s edition of the Weekly Rundown. There is so much to say and share about what happened this week, I almost don’t know where to begin. It’s clear to me that we have a huge problem as a country, a major disconnect between the alternate realities we are choosing to believe. It’s clear to me that our sitting President is just as off his rocker as I thought he was in 2016. His actions appall me, but do not surprise me. It’s clear we have a major problem of institutional racism. And there is another problem, one that cuts close to home. We have a problem of Christian nationalism. So I leave you with a few final links: Evangelicals must denounce the Christian nationalism in Capitol riots and They Invaded the Capitol Saying ‘Jesus is My Savior. Trump is My President’.

Have you ever considered that the left wing politicians are off their rockers and not Trump? That by supporting the radicalism of the left we stand to lose the following: Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Religion, the ability to make your own healthcare decisions, and the turnaround of everything for and of god into something that is considered evil or twisted? It’s already starting and conservatives across the nation are being oppressed and told that if you have an opinion that is not sanctioned by the left then they are going to come after you – your rights, your creditability and your job. If you are only watching big media networks, I’d urge you to do your own research. Big media told you to think this was race related. Wake up call – it’s not, it’s about freedom and the preservation of America a rooting out fraud and corruption. If you think you are safe from this persecution then just wait. If things continue in this manner you may find that you are living in communist China right here in America. And, since race is so important to the people who share your flavored this is coming from someone who is a minority.
Hi Jessica, yes I have certainly considered that ‘left wing’ politics are off their rockers too. A little background on me: I am a republican turned newly independent and I feel zero allegiance to either party, which helps me see things more clearly than I did during my conservative-Republican days (which was all my life until about 5 years ago). I used to think ‘my party’ could do no wrong. Now that I have no party I can see both from a more critical-thinking perspective. I do think some Dems want to take things too far. But I also think many Reps are too concerned with upholding the status quo, afraid of change, or are trying to return America to an era that was only ‘great’ for certain people groups. I am ALL for God in America, and more God in America, but I do not think it’s supposed to come from legislation, laws or the government.
As a former journalist I pride myself on getting my news and information from a variety of sources, always. And a good bottom line is that if you can’t verify a piece of information from more than one source then there’s a good chance it’s not true. Everyone was worried Obama would turn America into a communist country too, and now they’re using the same line with Biden, who is quite the moderate. As always I think we should be ever vigilant on paying attention to what’s a stake. But I think you and I have a different idea of what’s at stake, and I think that is the reason why so many people cannot see eye-to-eye. Thank you for your comment!
