the Weekly Rundown: ‘The Social Dilemma’ + Prepping for Fall

Clogs of my dreams?

The majority of younger Americans say their mental health has suffered from the coronavirus pandemic. There seem to be a few key reasons why it’s affecting younger generations more than older.

Mr. Seasons and I watched ‘The Social Dilemma‘ this weekend and it majorly creeped me out to take an inside look at just how much our phones and social media usage is manipulating us. We think we are in charge of it, but truly, it’s in charge of us. It’s definitely inspiring me to set stricter boundaries for myself and my kids.

“When they hear “Me too,” when they hear “Impeach him,” when they hear “Black lives matter,” when they hear “No justice, no peace”—they hear the sounds of violent attacks on their supremacy, they envision their property burning, they see their America under attack.”Ibram X Kendi in a recent article in The Atlantic on the topic of defending white male supremacy.

Smores cookies… I might need these in my life soon. (They may just be the best last hurrah of summer.)

I think these cropped sweatshirts would be really cute over skirts and dresses in the fall. And, I can’t seem to get enough of v-neck cardigans lately, I like the texture on this one.

This skirt that I have loved all summer is on super sale. I plan on wearing mine with tights and boots when it gets cold.

Speaking of dressing for cooler weather, I always seem to struggle with not feeling frumpy. I’m thinking about adding a few cute tops like this to help out.

I am really into wool shirt jackets lately, and I love the buttons on this one. This might be a fun item to shop the men’s department for, or even the thrift store!

Twenty of the best plus-size jumpsuits. I love the styling of the Universal Standard one!

Love these fall outfit ideas from the editors at The Everygirl. My favorites are the chunky boots outfit and the one with the camel coat.

If you’re quarantine hair is getting a little long, it might be just the right length for this ultra cute, easy to replicate chignon! I’m going to test it out this weekend!

I’m swooning over this black and white industrial bathroom.

Thank you to all of you guys who have reached out/left comments about the wildfires. I don’t even know what to say. It’s devastating to see communities close to home (particularly communities near our hometowns of Eugene and Salem) who have lost so much. It physically hurts to watch my home state burn. We are far enough away from the fires outside Portland that we probably won’t have to evacuate. We have our family and our home, which is more than some people right now. If you’re local and need more information about where to evacuate to, or where to donate your resources this list is extremely comprehensive.

Much love you guys!! xx

  1. I kind of love those clogs. Since last year I have been telling myself I don’t need the black No.6 Lander Lace Up Shearling Clog Boot. But they do check the stay-at-home shoe requirement of walkable and cozy…

    1. I just googled those and they look so cozy and amazing! I’m all about the cozy, comfort items right now! It’s definitely a form of self care for me. :)
