One Skirt – 5 Ways

In an unexpected rush of affection for cheetah print midi skirts, I spent a day earlier this week styling one into a variety of fun outfits. It was so easy it surprised me. A cheetah print skirt in my closet feels like a wildcard that can be played in many ways – casual, dressy, unexpected, summery, wintry, and so on.

This particular skirt is c/o Vetta, a fantastic, female-owned, made-in-USA company that I’ve loved and supported over the last few years. (You can read more about them here.) This skirt is from their Glam Capsule, which features 5 interchangeable items.

This skirt – called the Reversible Satin Midi Skirt – is indeed reversible, this one is black on the other side. I was so excited to style the cheetah side that I didn’t style any with the black… yet.

A quick note on stock: most of the sizes of this skirt are listed as ‘sold out’ on Vetta’s website. The team at Vetta told me they are currently in the midst of getting returns, and that more stock will pop up on their site soon. If you’re interested in purchasing one, I suggest keeping a close eye on their site.

I am wearing a size small in the skirt. My measurements (28.5″ waist / 38″ hips) put me right between a small and a medium, so I tried on both sizes. I went with the small because it sits higher on my waist. I have to shimmy a little bit to get it over my hips, but it is very comfortable on my waist once it is on.

Alright, let’s get to the styling!

My first instinct is to style almost everything in life with a plain white tee, because I love uncomplicated clothing. Plain and simple. Life is complicated, I like my clothes not to be, yet I am compelled to keep them interesting.

Tee: Cotton Crew (M), Everlane
Skirt: Reversible Satin Midi (S), c/o Vetta
Shoes: Birkenstocks

This skirt is so appealing to me because I love the way it makes my everyday clothes feel more compelling. I love the contrast of the Tevas and the silky skirt. This outfit looks great, and it’s highly functional.

Tank: Picnic Tank, Everlane
Skirt: Reversible Satin Midi (S), c/o Vetta
Shoes: Midform Sandals (10), Teva

Another contrast play here with the slightly oversized graphic tee. I was a little torn on which shoes to style with this, and ended up going for a slightly more feminine option, compared to the last two looks.

Tee: Earth Tee (M), Jungmaven (referral link here)
Skirt: Reversible Satin Midi (S), c/o Vetta
Sandals: Classic Slides, c/o Either/OR (use code SALT20 to save 20%!)

I was really excited to style this skirt for fall, and wanted to create many outfits, but I was fighting some hot temps, so I only got to a few. This mockneck tee would be great for fall, or a black (or white, or cream) turtleneck would be awesome too. You could even go for a tan one and wear tan boots, in a quasi-monochromatic look!

Top: Old (similar in a tank) (similar in a long sleeve rib)
Skirt: Reversible Satin Midi (S), c/o Vetta
Boots: Ralf Boots (10), Freda Salvador

I think this is my favorite look out of the bunch! I love the sneakers and the skirt, and I love knowing that this skirt works well with a loose-fit sweater, something I tend to wear a lot in the colder months. I did a quick front-tuck in the waistband of my skirt, and it worked like a charm.

Sweater: Alpaca Crew (M), c/o Everlane
Skirt: Reversible Satin Midi (S), c/o Vetta
Sneakers: Court Sneaker (10), Everlane

If you’re on the hunt for a skirt like this, and don’t see your size back in stock at Vetta, Anine Bing makes a similar one that’s on sale at Shopbop right now.
