This week I listened to Jen Hatmaker’s podcast interview with her daughter Sydney as they talked about the struggles LGBTQ teens face growing up in Christian homes. One of the things that stood out to me was when Jen talked about how she regretted not sharing more with her kids when she and her husband were working through their understanding of theology around homosexuality (and moving toward an affirming direction). It reminded me of how often we think we need to have all the answers before sharing with our kids, instead of sharing our process of finding answers. In the interview Sydney offers some insight to Christians looking to be allies to the LGBTQ community within the church. Highly recommend this one!
Back in October I was able to catch a live podcast recording in Portland of Jen Hatmaker with Austin Channing Brown, and I just saw that it’s online! I am not a super fan of Jen Hatmaker, but her guests always get me in the door!
My friend Karin shared a post this week on inclusivity and the ethical fashion movement, and I couldn’t agree more!

A few big summer sales are currently underway/about to kick off. Madewell has much of their warm weather collection discounted by 40%, including this ruffle button-front tank I own and recommend because ultra lightweight (great for the heat!) and it’s super cute. I recently got a cutout tank like this one and I think it’s a really fresh spin on a tank top. And I recently tried these shorts, which are super cute, but I didn’t keep them because I felt they were a little redundant with a pair of shorts I have of similar color.
Also on the shorts front, I came across another shade of the Agolde Reese shorts I love so much, in a cool, faded look. (If you order these shorts you could consider sizing down for a more fitted look.)
