Hey guys! I hope everyone is doing well out there. It’s been extra hard for me to find work time in the last week, so the blog posts have been coming out a little slower than I’d hoped. Thanks for your patience. Between filling in as a teacher x3 and keeping everyone fed, the days fly by fast and furious around here. I’m thankful, but it’s challenging and tiring, and some days I feel so restless and unable to focus.
It’s hard to imagine life ‘on the other side’ so I am trying to cling to little things that make me happy right now. A few of those are: sunny weather, good food, hard workouts and, of course, styling + wearing cute clothes!
The last week saw some outfits that made me really happy including considered layers and an unexpected pairing. Here’s a peek at what I’ve been wearing.
Tuesday:

Wearing black on warm days may seem counterintuitive, but the lightness of these pants cannot be described in words. They are sort of like wearing air, with a lot more interest in the form of dots and pleats. They are insanely comfortable and I love the unexpected shape. They are: wide, tapered, pleated and cropped.
OUTFIT DETAILS:
Picnic Tank, Everlane, size 6
Sylvie Trouser, c/o REIFhaus (see more styling strategies here)
Sweater, c/o Tradlands, sold out, similar option
Classic Slides, c/o Either/OR
Wednesday:

On Wednesday, I decided to skip over the usual knits I wear for a warm layer and reached for something more structured (but still comfy), my linen duster from Esby. I didn’t put it on until about lunchtime, but something about wearing a decidedly un-loungey piece of clothing really perked up my day. I felt a little more motivated, focused and less like I was staying home all day (even though I was). The psychology of clothing is weird.
I wanted to give you guys an update on these pants. They have stretched out quite a bit. Almost a full size. That is something to keep in mind if you order this color. I don’t mind, because it gives them more of a beachy, loose fit, and these pants were designed with summer in mind. They are still extremely comfortable to wear, even for sitting long periods of time. I was almost tempted to pick up a pair in light blue, but jeans are one item I am not short on.
OUTFIT DETAILS:
Baronne Duster (M), c/o ESBY Apparel (currently on big-time sale!)
Pima Micro Rib Long Sleeve Tee (M), Everlane (similar)
Super-Soft Wide Leg Jean, 28, c/o Everlane
Woven Sandal (10), Mohinders
Thursday:

Surprise! Here is a sneak peek at something I’ll be sharing more of next week! I will be styling this amazing pinafore several ways (you’re going to be amazed at how versatile it is!) AND there will be a special discount code to Pyne & Smith! It’s currently sold out, but I promise a re-stock is coming!
OUTFIT DETAILS:
Model No.32, the Pinafore, c/o Pyne & Smith
Cotton Crew (M), Everlane
Birkenstocks
Friday & Saturday:

Is it a jumpsuit or a dress? This soft, stretchy, cotton jersey number is what I think will be a summer workhorse. Pool/lake coverup, park + picnic attire, date night walk outfit (just add a denim jacket), and very, very good for lounging on the couch. PS. It has pockets. Made responsibly in LA.
(And yes, I wore it two days in a row.)
Lakeside Jumpsuit, c/o Mein (they happen to be 20% off right now w/code LAKESIDE20)
Pons, by Avarcas
Monday:

Skipping Sunday for Monday because I took every possible excuse not to pick up a camera or do anything blog-related on Mother’s Day. This outfit came together unexpectedly well for me so I had to share it with you guys. I love the contrast of the girlie top and the sporty slides, it makes my heart very happy. The 90’s jeans are the icing on the cake.
I bought these sandals thinking they’d be great for outside and around the water, but I also realized they’re great for around the house, specifically the kitchen. The washable nature means I don’t have to worry about drips or stains when I’m cooking or doing dishes. They are a great summer swap for my wool slippers.
The Lace Button Up Blouse (M), c/o Vetta (sadly this top is almost entirely sold out. But you may like this one!)
90’s Jean (27), AGOLDE (size down) (these are so comfy!)
Barbados Slides, Birkenstock
And that’s all she wrote! I hope your week is off to a great start. xx

I can’t wait to see how you style the brown jumpsuit! I have a very similar one (old fast fashion) and I’m always at a loss as to how to wear it.
Happy Mother’s day!
It feels a bit tricky because the length, but I put a cropped jean jacket on with it and thought it was super cute!
Your comment on “the psychology of clothing” struck me because in this time of covid19 my plan has been to “act as if” I had somewhere to go or expecting company. I shower and dress in regular outfits …not casual wear or pajamas. It definitely lifts my spirits….thankyou for sharing.
Hi Lee, yes, I think the act of showering, and getting dressed as if I’m facing the outside world, is critical to my coping right now. I might ease up a little on the weekends, but on the weekdays, I make it a habit of getting dressed, combing hair, etc. I do those things for me to feel like ‘me’. Thank you for your comment!
I wore my Mein jumpsuit to death when I was pregnant. It’s such a comfy piece!
Love that pinafore dress. Super cute
Thank you Haj! I’ve been enjoying it soooo much! I can’t wait to share more looks with it next week! :)
