Did you guys see my friend Lee is posting daily outfits over on her blog for the month of August? Of course she is nailing it too! I’ve been enjoying this 99 Days of Summer Style series, but I definitely miss my regular, longer format posts too. I’ve been thinking about how I will do things in the fall when the series is over, and I may still try and incorporate some version of daily outfits.
The outfit above has been one of my favorites this summer. It’s a compliment magnet, and since words of affirmation are a big thing for me, that always makes me feel good! Bonus that it’s great for the heat too!
OUTFIT DETAILS:
Linen Tank, Paloma Wool
Cove Pants (M) in Oatmeal Linen, c/o Only Child
Woven Sandal (10), Mohinders
Circle Bag, Baggu (love this option!)

I love the simplicity of dressing for summer. All you need is one item that is semi-interesting or statement making, add basics, then you’re set.
For me, it’s these shorts, which are amazing. (There is a front button, it’s just clear.) I never knew I needed a giant pair of pleated shorts in my life, yet I love these so much. At first it seemed like a style that really pushed me out of my comfort zone, and now I prefer these to short-shorts and denim cutoffs x100.
OUTFIT DETAILS:
Picnic Tank (6), c/o Everlane –> restocked in a few sizes!
Sylvie Trouser Short (M), c/o Reifhaus
Woven Sandal (10), Mohinders
I totally agree with you, I love summer for that reason. I feel the simplicity is gone once fall hit and then its more layers and less light fabrics. Great blog post!

It’s so much easier to dress simply, isn’t it? I often get stuck in the layers, and trying to coordinate well to get the outcome I want…
That Paloma wool tank is my absolute dream shape for a tank – the high, wide neck, and slightly boxy crop are so flattering.
PS. I am a new “official” follower! I have been sort of accidentally following on Pinterest for a while (ie, you always pop up in my feeds and searches, and I started to notice that I had quite a few looks of yours pinned) and after spending some time catching up on your blog recently, I’ve become a real fan!
Hi Mallory! I was so excited to read this comment, so good to have you!!! Love that you found me on pinterest. <3
