[7/99] June Gloom

Distressed Denim Jacket (M), c/o ABLE | Striped Tank, (similar) | Wide Leg Crop Chinos (6), c/o | Crossover Sandal (10.5), c/o | Medallion Necklace, Missoma

It’s decidedly cool here today. I spent some quality ‘porch time’ with a good friend watching our kiddos play and I was actually a little cold! That’s June gloom for ya. It’s also the reason why I have nearly every season of clothing in my closet right now. I can’t tuck away pants because I’m still wearing ’em!

This jacket is getting lots of wear time because it’s very soft. Plus I really like the distressing. I’ve decided I am a big fan of loose pants. I am not sure why we women feel the need to cram ourselves into the smallest pant size possible, yet here I am, guilty as charged. I am no longer interested in that. I like room for my legs to feel unrestricted, and for my hips and waist to breathe. I like the feeling of not wanting to rip my clothing off by the end of the day. More thoughts to come on this.

Cheers for now!

PS. Love this summer pleasures list!

  1. Ha! I recently ordered those same pants and they’re the only wide leg pant I’ve found that flatters me! (It’s the lack of exterior pockets!) I also ordered some jeans and promptly sent them back. Came to realize I’m more of a loose pants girl too. What I like is they feel snug where I need it most, but give my hips and legs room to breathe and live and play! I went ahead and ordered another pair in ochre because why the heck not?!

    1. I have them in two colors too! They are just so good! I agree, love how they are fitted at the waist, where I want it, and loose everywhere else! I will be sad when it gets too cold in the winter to wear them. Or maybe I will have to invest in some tall socks, haha.

  2. I also have the wide leg chinos and I love them!
    The best investment this season.
Like you, I have discovered that I feel my best in wide leg, high waist pants.
No restrictions and indeed, not the feeling wanting to rib off your clothes as soon as you come home.
Now saving up to buy a few more next year during our holidays in the States :-)

      1. Thank you Andrea!
        Me too….
Next week we will already buy the tickets and the planning of the trip can start :-)

  3. I get the June Gloom. But here in South Carolina it is over 100. I am jealous of the sweaters and light-weight jackets that look so cute in an outfit. It is hard to look stylish in a pair of shorts and a t-shirt.

I love the honest approach to your blogs. And the fact they although you are gifted some items, it is not an advertisement for expensive brands.

    1. I agree, it IS hard to look stylish in as little clothing as possible!! Don’t worry, my turn for heat is coming soon! Yikes! Good luck in South Carolina! And thank you for the thoughts and feedback on my blog, I always appreciate it.

Thank you for writing this and I cannot wait to read more. It really hit me hard.

    1. Gah, I’m so glad this resonates with you Kathleen. I wrote a little more about it my post featuring the Curator pants (which are a bit looser). I’m tired of shoe-horning myself in, and I just want to look AND feel good.

  5. I love this outfit :) Everlane seems to be all out of every striped tank top … help!
