This is my first blog post from my phone so bear with me and my clumsy thumbs.
Wow, this dress stopped me in my tracks when I put it on. It’s from Vetta, a small batch brand out of NYC that creates beautiful, interchangeable capsules. This is my favorite item to date from them. They nailed this! It’s the Tiered Wrap Dress (gifted) from their newly released Romantic Capsule. It can be worn knee length (shown) or longer with a tier that buttons on. To my surprise I love it both ways! I will try to share photos with the full length soon, I had about 3 seconds to snap these photos today before we left home on our Father’s Day adventures.
I love this dress because:
– The shape is very forgiving and I like the flounce on the hemlines.
– I’m a big fan of the washed black, white dots fabric. It’s more interesting than a solid, which I have a lot of in my closet.
– I really like that the v-neck isn’t super low, which is often the case with wrap styles. So far this one is easy to wear and helps me to still feel covered.
The dress is made from tencel, which I normally don’t love, but this fabric feels more like cotton to me. I am not sure if the weave is different or if it’s because it’s a ‘washed style.’ But I quite like it. I wouldn’t have believed it was tencel if I hadn’t checked the tag.
That’s all for now. More to come on this dress in a future, I’m sure!

If a linen dress is on your list for the summer, you can save 10% at Pyne & Smith through Tuesday 6/18. Use the code SEASONS10 at checkout. I love the full-length options, specifically the biscuits stripe and chambray. You can see how I styled the brand new Model No.28 here.
Hope your day was great! See you tomorrow!
Wow this looks so different on you than the model on the site – in the best way possible. It looks almost business-y or stodgy on Vetta’s site but looks so easy and fun on you. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the feedback Mel! I agree, it does look quite different on the site! I think the shoes it’s styled with could be a factor too…
I agree with Mel’s comment that I like the dress more on you than on the model! I honestly found it so hard to picture the dress IRL from the model pictures alone, so I’m excited to see it on more people via social media/blogs :)
How do you find the snap/button off section of the dress? I feel like that feature would annoy me … or make me feel like I’m wearing zip-off pants/shorts/capris lol!
Again, this dress looks so lovely on you!
Hi Erin! Thanks for the kind feedback! I agree, I don’t love the pictures on the site either. I have not worn it with the bottom piece on, but I did notice the snaps a few times when I sat down. They weren’t uncomfortable, just felt cold to my skin. It does make me think of zip-off pants too, haha!!
This looks beautiful! I’ve been looking forward to seeing reviews and photos of “real people” with items from Vetta’s new capsule! Completely agree with Mel and Erin’s comments–seeing the photos on their website doesn’t feel very real! I can’t wait to see your photos of the dress worn long too!
Thanks so much for the feedback Laura!! I have to admit, I feel pretty good in that dress!
This dress looks SO GOOD on you! And the two tiered hemline is genius!
Thank you Lexie!! It’s supposed to be reversible too, but I haven’t tried it that way yet.
I love your outfits and I drool over all the different ethical brands available in the US. Do you have a list of independent ethical brands in Europe? I only know of a few – L’Envers, Babaa, Baserange, Album di Famiglia, Aiayu – most of which are solid colours natural fabrics. All very nice but I would love to know other european brands that have more prints and interesting cuts. Any names would be much appreciated.
Hi Wendy, I do not! But I do know Pyne & Smith ships world wide. And I believe Thought clothing is based in the UK. You can also try Garmentory, many of those shops ship worldwide. I would try Matter Prints and People Tree UK too. You can find links to most of these on my Where to Shop page. Good luck!
