This post is part of a collaboration with Power of My People. This post is not sponsored, but I will make a commission if you make a purchase with my discount code during the next two weeks. I hope you love their new fall collection as much as I do!
If you’ve been around Seasons + Salt for awhile, you might remember when I highlighted Canadian shirt makers Power of My People last fall. Their company is dedicated to responsible production, all the way down to where their fabric is sourced.
I particularly love their business model: they release a small, carefully designed collection just a few times per year. I feel like their pieces and perspective on the apparel industry invite me to slow down and consider what will be a ‘forever addition’ before adding to my closet.
Today I wanted to share a glimpse into their Fall + Winter collection, which has introduced two new, beautiful warm shades to the brand’s lineup – cognac brown (seen here) and tuscan red. Both fabrics are slightly textured and come in the brand’s popular Proper Fit style, which is a classic cut with straight lines and an angled front pocket.
I chose the cognac brown because it’s 100% cotton with a brushed finish, inside and out – aka cozy flannel. Just the kind of shirt I want to reach for in the mornings when the temperatures are low.
Last fall I styled a Proper Fit shirt in a beautiful textured blue, in a size small. This fall I decided to size up to a large and try my hand at styling the top in an oversized fit. I couldn’t be happier with it. It’s nice and baggy and works great in a front tuck with my straight leg jeans. Next, I plan to try styling it open over a white tee, sort of like a cozy, light flannel jacket. I also think it would look great with the shirt tails tied in front paired with high-waisted jeans and cognac boots.
PoMP’s fall collection — aptly titled Gent-elle — also features a Studio Workwear Jacket in black and cream, and a long-sleeve kimono jacket. I’m of course partial to the shirt I’m wearing, called the Consiglier, because of the beautiful color and soft fabric. It’s worth noting that the Director is made from the same soft fabric, but in a heather black.
You can read more about founders Jessica and Kyle’s backstory and details about their small-batch shirt company in my post from last October.
If you choose to shop with Power of My People over the next two weeks, you can use the code S&S20 to get 20% off your order. If you live in the US, the conversion rate from CAD to USD plus the discount equals a pretty great deal! The Proper Fit styles of shirts are $185 CAD, which makes them about $142 USD, less the 20%, the total is about $113 +shipping. The code is good through October 26th, 11:59pm PDT.

What are your boots/jeans combo here? They look SO GOOD! xo
Thank you Sarah! The jeans are from Everlane – the Cheeky straight in washed black, and the boots are by Aquatalia, I think the style is from last fall, it’s called the ‘Theodora.’
Hi! What size are you wearing in these Everlane jeans? I am a similar size and love them, thank you!
Hi Allison, I am wearing a size 27, they were really tight at first, but have loosened quite a bit!
