Wearing Lately… 10(!!) Outfits

I’m going to keep my commentary on this blog post brief today because I have a lot of ground to cover. I’m still snapping away most days after I get dressed and here is what I consider my ‘highlight reel’ from the last few weeks! There are ten outfits, and I’m really happy with them. Here goes!

Kamm Pants, Skintone 34

Cardigan no19 (one size), Babaá Knitwear | Pima Micro Rib Scoop Neck Tee, Everlane | Sailor Pants, (8 -runs small), Jesse Kamm | Mariella Mule, c/o Nisolo | Form Bag, c/o Everlane | necklace: Pursuits of Happiness

I read on Lo’s blog that ‘shades of brown’ is trending this season, that must explain why I want to wear all my brown everyday. The cardigan is a bit of a rogue piece because it’s a ‘cool’ brown compared to the other shades, but I love it so much I don’t care. Bringing in my fun Pursuits of Happiness necklace to round out the palette.

Babaa knitwear

Cardigan no19 (one size), Babaá Knitwear | Linen Peasant Top, Muumuu | White, Modern BF Jeans (28, with altered waist), Everlane (probably more like this fit) | Boots, Loeffler Randall, no longer available (similar option, love these too) | Form Bag, c/o Everlane

I’m pretty excited because I have new love for my boots this fall. I bought these two years ago and they finally have that ‘lived-in’ look, and I like them even better now. Sadly, Loeffler Randall doesn’t make this style anymore, but I’ve linked to a similar option.

Kamm Pants, Skintone 34

Striped Shirt, Tradlands (a few seasons old) | Sailor Pants, (8 -runs small), Jesse Kamm | Day Glove flat (10.5), c/o Everlane | Classic Tote, c/o Cuyana

I finally took the plunge and had these pants altered. This color runs a half size small, so I sized up when I got them. The trouble with high-waisted pants that are roomy is that they ride up my hips, and it’s just not comfortable. The tailor did a great job, and now these pants sit where they are supposed to, and they are much more comfortable. A quick note on color: I love the blue in this top because it has warm undertones. I think that’s why it works so well with these pants.

Jamie and the Jones T Sweater Jamie and the Jones

T Sweater, c/o Jamie + the Jones | Crop Flood Jeans (27), Reformation | Clogs, No.6 (similar) | necklace: Pursuits of Happiness

You could definitely call this my ‘off-duty’ uniform. (In fact, I snapped a photo of a similar version a week prior that didn’t make the cut for this post.) Not that I am ever off duty. Ahem, three kids. But this is my getting-things-done look. All comfy pieces. Shoes good for chasing down kids. The texture of this sweater and the additional colors from the necklace make me happy.

Pyne & Smith Dress

Cotton Crewneck (M), c/o Everlane | Model No.17 Dress, c/o Pyne & Smith | Sneakers (41), Veja | Classic Shoulder Bag, Cuyana | Initial Necklace, Nashelle

This is one of my biggest styling experiments lately! I wanted to see how I could style this dress for the fall because I like the midi length, so I added a sweater, and it was magic. The look was really relaxed, because the fit of both garments is pretty loose and the sneakers continued the casual vibe. It was super fun to wear.

Everlane Form Bag Babaa Knitwear

Cardigan no19 (one size), Babaá Knitwear | T Top, c/o Jamie + the Jones | Cheeky Jean in washed black (27R), Everlane | Clogs, No.6 (similar) | Form Bag, c/o Everlane

Gloomy weather means playing with dark colors! You can’t see it, but my T-Top is hiding under the cardigan. I was working on re-creating THIS outfit from last fall. I like the way this cardigan works with dark colors. Also, I love everything about this cardigan in general. At some point, I’ll probably put together a post with a little more in-depth info.

White, Wide Leg Pants, Able, Cuyana Tote

Top, Miranda Bennett (similar) | White Wide Leg Denim (28), c/o ABLE | Huaraches (9.5), Nisolo | Classic Tote, c/o Cuyana | Slice Hoops, c/o Baleen

A burst of warm weather meant an opposite color palette here. I am a HUGE fan of blush and brown together. Add white and tan, and I’m a happy lady. I am curious to see if I’ll still be feeling this color palette in deep November.

REIFhaus Lou Jumpsuit

Striped Long Sleeve Tee (M), Everlane | Denim Jumpsuit (M), REIFhaus (same in hemp canvas) | Sneakers (41), Veja | Necklace, c/o Rebecca Mir Grady

I call this my ‘playful mom’ look. I LOVE it. My littlest and I were headed to the zoo for the day, and I needed something very practical, but didn’t want to wear jeans. Sometimes uber casual affairs seem like the hardest ones to dress for.

Only Child, Babaa Knitwear

Cardigan no18 (one size), Babaá Knitwear | Charlie Top + Cove Pants, c/o Only Child use code SEASONS15 to save 15% through 10/6Mariella Mule, c/o Nisolo Bucket Bag, the Stowe

Wearing my faux-jumpsuit again (not a twinset!). I really like these two pieces, but I have yet to try them separately. I also think this would look suuuuuper cute with sneakers. High tops would be even cuter.

Waffle Knit Sweater, c/o Everlane | Crop Flood Jeans (27), Reformation | Chelsea Boots (9.5) , Everlane

Had some apple picking magic over the weekend. Again, something I struggled to dress for. I have a pair of old Frye Harness boots that I would have liked to wear but, since I am sans-skinny jeans, I didn’t think they would work. Maybe I could have rolled up my jeans… Anyway, opted for my black chelsea boots, which happen to look a little cuter with dirt on them. (They always feel too dressy to me!) Note: don’t be like me and wear a nice sweater apple picking, it doesn’t work well for reaching in between tight branches.

If you made it this far, thank you. You must be obsessed with other people’s style, just like me. :)

    1. Yes, it was pretty itchy at first. It’s better now, but still a little itchy. From what I understand it will get better with time.

  1. I really like the apple picking outfit and the Kamm’s and striped shirt! These are always my favorite posts….I love seeing what you wear. Do you like that cashmere waffle sweater? I wondered if it’s worth the $$$ as it’s on my list for winter clothes. Because let’s face it, I wont wear a wool sweater in the fall in Virginia as much as i would like to. 🙄 Have a great week, friend!

      1. Possibly. I’m sure I would wear it mid-December through February, but I am not sure it is worth the cost to only wear it two months out of the year. Keeping an eye for a secondhand one. There is a bubble gum pink one from last season for sale on Poshmark that I SO wish was gray or brown. I love cashmere and wore it often in Nebraska.

  2. I love the first outfit on here. The sailor pants are not something I would wear, but that color palette is very inspiring and it looks so easy, but fresh.

Have you ever considered adding age of a piece (not for every wearing lately post), but maybe once a season including that detail? Would be curious to know the number of months/years you’ve had a piece and how they mix in with new or old items. Plus I always feel very inspired seeing people wearing clothes that have been around in their closets for quite some time! This was just something on my mind after your post/comments from yesterday.

Hope you had as much fun apple picking as the photo makes it look like :)

  3. Another week of great outfits!
I pulled the trigger and splurged on that Everlane waffle knit crew in black after lusting after yours all last winter, and needing to replace a black sweater.

    Have a great week!

  4. I love your use of white!! The white widelegs are perfect rolled up for this time of year when it’s cool in the AM and warmer in the afternoon. Also really digging the white/cream with the babaá sweater (is that puppy itchy)?

    1. Thanks Katy! The cream Babaá is cotton and it’s very soft! My wool one was pretty itchy at first, but it’s slowly getting better.

  5. I love all your looks here and am noting that you are still able to get away with cropped pants… I have a few pairs now and am in a quandary on how to style them (especially the wide-legged ones) through the winters with socks, etc…? I am in Canada where we already (!!!) have a crap-ton of snow. I would love to get some wear out of my wide leg crops over the winter but am really not sure how it is all going to come together!! Any style tips?

    1. Such a great question Brenda!! I bought a pair of boots this winter with a slightly taller shaft, I’m hoping that does the strick. And I also have my eye on a pair of white high top canvas sneakers (PF flyer’s made in the usa line) which I think would be great too. So, in short, taller boots and maybe taller socks too. Time will tell!

  6. Hi Andrea! I’m loving all the browns this season too. Happy sigh. Can you tell me about the difference between your two Babaa cardigans? I live on the west coast of Canada and am wondering whether the cotton sweater would work through the winter for our milder temperatures, or if I should go for the wool? Do you plan on wearing your cotton cardi this winter?
    Thanks! Katherine

    1. Hi Katherine, I think this topic is definitely worth a blog post! I will try to wear my cotton one through the winter because I love it so much. However, it has cropped-ish sleeves and is hard to wear under a jacket, so we will see. The wool one has a bit more coverage so I think it might be a bit more seasonally-universal.

  7. These are great! Love the juxtaposition of the fall whites with a cardigan and the summer whites with the blush top. I also struggle with casual. If we are going to the zoo here, it’s probably going to be at least 80 degrees so I have to stick with shorts and a tank. Right now, I am dying for pants and sweaters. I used to love getting dressed when I went into an office. It was casual and creative and I kind of miss it :)

The brown Kamms look amazing altered. Great choice!

    1. Thanks for weighing in Mel, and for noticing the details that you do! I found getting dressed for an office very restricting, but then again, I’ve changed a lot in 10 years, maybe I would enjoy it now! Hope you get to wear a sweater soon. xx

  8. I was trying to hold off on buying the wool Babaa cardigan but after seeing you wearing it so beautifully here I decided to pull the trigger. I love the cotton version and hope that the itchiness factor of this one is not a deal breaker. Regarding the washed black cheeky jeans, did you size down or do you find they fit tts?

    1. Hi Alex, I looooove the wool Babaa. It’s not nearly as heavy as the cotton, which is great. I was wearing it earlier today, and I noticed the itchiness factor has substantially diminished! So when get yours, don’t be deterred by it!

I have the washed black cheeky jeans in a 27 regular. They were super tight at first, but stretched out like a whole size. I am a size 6 and 28 normally.
