I am so eager to share this post with you today! This amazing twinset by Only Child has been in my closet for a few weeks now, and it’s been so hard to keep it a secret! As you know, I am a big fan of jumpsuits and they are a very regular part of my closet. When I saw Only Child’s release of this coordinating top and bottom, I knew it was destined for jumpsuit status for me. Together the pieces read like a jumpsuit, but with the ease of separates.

This is my first time trying tencel in a color other than black, and I like it. Black tencel has always felt a little formal and dressy to me. This beautiful, sage-y green keeps things casual. The weight of this fabric is slightly thicker than other tencel in my closet and has a more ‘woven’ texture, and I think I prefer it this way.

When pulling together this outfit, I knew it was going to be chilly, so I added boots and a canvas jacket. I like the way the brown tones play off the warm green shade. In the future I look forward to styling the set with black accessories too. Only Child Cove Wide Leg PantsOnly Child Cove Wide Leg Pants

WHO IS ONLY CHILD? AND WHO MAKES THE CLOTHES?

If you’re new to the blog, Only Child may be a new name for you. If you’ve been here awhile, you know I’ve been a fan of this brand since the start. They’re doing so many things right in my book, including making clothes everyone wants to wear while running a shop of happy, cared-for employees.

To learn a little more, I thought it would be fun to ask founder Haley Tucker for three interesting facts about the behind-the-scenes of her business.

1) We’ll be 3 in December!  Although, I kind of like to think our birthday is in January. That’s when we had our first sale that wasn’t from my mom or aunt, ha! Our first sale was a wool coat. I remember I screamed and ran around my apartment while blasting Chaka Khan’s “I’m Every Woman.”

2) There are 5 of us. 6 if you count my dog Penny but she’s a terrible worker. We have three seamstresses: Sam, Candice, and Valicia plus our production assistant, Courtney.

3) We have a lot of fun at work and spend a lot of time laughing together throughout the day. I like to think that somehow translates into what we’re making. I love clothes and making things that people enjoy wearing, but that wouldn’t mean anything to me if we were making these things in a poor work environment. Making a space where people are being taken care of and enjoy being in is one of my main priorities.

It has been so amazing to watch this company grow, and see what Haley’s been building. For more behind-the-scenes fun, you can follow Only Child’s Instagram stories, you never know which 2000’s pop band they will be listening to next!

ONLY CHILD FALL COLLECTION + DISCOUNT CODE

Okay, on to the clothes. Have you had a chance to check out the new arrivals for fall? This year’s line features a warm and neutral color palette, with all my favorite colors. For this post, I am wearing the Charlie Top and Cove Pants both in sage tencel, size Medium. The jacket I’m wearing in these photos is by a different designer (Elizabeth Suzann), but I think the sage twinset would also look great with Only Child’s Cardiff Trench which comes in a beautiful oatmeal wool this year. Personally, I’ve been eyeing the Sonora Coat because it has a hood.

My favorite after the Charlie/Cove combo, is probably the Taylor Wide Leg Jumpsuit. It would look so cute with a turtleneck underneath, or with a chunky cardigan and pointy boots.

If you’re in the market for a new piece from Only Child, be sure to use the code SEASONS15 to save 15%. The discount is good through October 6th. I would love to hear what you have your eye on!

  1. I love the sage and clay colors of the Alta top and really want to add it to my closet! The twin set is cute! I think that is a jumpsuit look I would feel comfortable in.

    1. Rebecca, I do like the clay quite a bit myself! I think it might be more forgiving in terms of stains/getting dirty because the sage is pretty light. It’s fun to wear a matching set, right? This stuff isn’t just for little kids anymore, ha! :)

  2. What perfect timing! Just ready to pull the trigger on the dune pants. And maybe Tierra top? Or Sonora or Cardiff?! Too many lovely choices!!!

  3. Had my eye on a pair of Dune Pants in black cotton. This post inspired me to pull the trigger (and that discount code didn’t hurt either ;)) 😍😍 for Only Child & their clothing

  4. I ordered the Cove Pants in black tencel two weeks ago and I am anxiously waiting for them. This post made me even more excited for them. It is my first order from Only Child. I might just have to use the discount code to get a matching Charlie Top. The combo looks so cute and comfortable!

    1. I secretly wish I had this in black too! I think that combo would probably get the most mileage for sure. Hope you love your Cove pants!

  5. I saw you mention that the darker colors maybe more forgiving of stains but, I love the color! Have you had any mishaps with the color? Because if I pull the trigger on these beautiful pieces, because of the price point I want them to last! Love the turtleneck with jumper idea! Thanks!

    1. Hi Lauren, no mishaps with the color, it’s just lighter in the way a tan or a white or a gray is, so I’m a little more cautious, if that makes sense! I am sure they will last just fine. I wear light colors all the time, and I have just learned to get really good at getting stains/spots out!

      1. Thanks! Do you have a old blog post about getting stains out of various fabrics? I’ve not had luck getting a few stains out of some clothing and I just can’t keep whites white! I’d love some tips! Thanks for all your style inspo! 💗

        1. Hi Lauren, I don’t but that’s a great idea! My rules of thumb are pretty basic, but I’ll share just in case. If I spill something on my clothes, I try really hard not to let it dry. I will use water, and soap if I can to try and get it out. At the very least, ALWAYS water. Then I will machine wash and hope it comes out. If it doesn’t, I NEVER dry the item. My best saver for stains is the Oxy Clean Max Force Gel Stick. It works better for me than the spray. I’ve even gotten stains out of my kids’ clothes after they’ve gone through the dryer!! As for whites, I don’t use bleach, but I always wash them separately, and that seems to do the trick. Like I said, pretty basic stuff, but it seems to work! Grease spots are probably the hardest thing to get out, and I’ve been able to mitigate them a bit with dry baking soda. But mostly, if grease is involved, I make sure to wear an apron. I hope you are able to get some of your spots out!
