Fall Feature: Fauxgerty

Over the next handful of weeks I’m excited to be sharing some beautiful, fall releases from my favorite designers. AND I am pretty stoked to introduce you to a few new-to-me brands.

Today’s post kicks off the series with Fauxgerty, a St. Louis-based womenswear brand that produces modern, ethically-made clothing and outerwear. This post is NOT sponsored, but I did receive gifted items from Fauxgerty, and will be joining them in support of their Portland Pop-Up THIS Saturday. More details at the end of the post.

Before I go any further, I want to tell you how I feel in this outfit.

Damn good.

It is pushing the limits of what I normally wear in all the best ways possible. I tend to dodge getting dressed up. Mostly because it usually doesn’t make sense for my day-to-day life. But when the time comes to set the jeans and flats aside, I’m usually at a loss. I think it’s because I’m out of practice! Not this time. With a little back and forth in front of the mirror, I was able to create this look using some new pieces by Fauxgerty mixed in with a few of my personal favorites.

Why Fauxgerty?

Just five years ago, Chrissy Fogerty created Fauxgerty (see what she did there?) to make conscious shopping easy. Fauxgerty uses pre-loved vintage and deadstock fabrics to create contemporary pieces. They also use faux leather and suede along with hemp and fair trade, organic cotton.

I particularly like this brand because their offerings are a little bit different from what I typically see in the ethical fashion marketplace. The designs are contemporary, fun and bodyconscious. Think: bodysuits, fitted jumpsuits, playful skirts.

Who makes the clothes?

Chrissy and her team work closely with sewers in St. Louis, collaborating in the process to reach the end product. Fauxgerty also produces clothes in Los Angeles in a carefully chosen factory that is committed to fair pay and sustainable business practices.

What I love about their current collection:

The Dede Skirt obviously! This fun skirt would also look super cute with black boots and a leather jacket. The Mock Bodysuit is beautiful in rust, and would be your best buddy under a chunky cardigan. And I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the dreamy Marianna Dress.

POP UP!!

If you’re in Portland, this part is for you! Fauxgerty is hosting a pop-up shop THIS SATURDAY (9/22/18)! I’ll be there from 6-9 PM. If you’re local, I’d love to connect! And even better, you can come check out Fauxgerty’s line up in person, including some new fall releases that have yet to hit their online shop.

Portland jewelry maker Natalie Joy will be on hand with her amazing collection, along with local florist Starflower. My fav, Tonya from the Moptop will be hosting the event, and it is sure to be a good time!

The Pop-Up will be at PRINCE COFFEE, 2030 N Willis Blvd, Portland, 97217.

Bonus: there will be complimentary coffee, lattes and treats. Hope to see you there!

GIVEAWAY!!

One more treat for Portlander’s – Fauxgerty is giving away $250 to one local shopper. Head to this post to enter!

  1. Okay, the Fauxgerty pieces are beautiful, but, your rust trench!! Wow. Sooo gorgeous the way you’ve styled it here. Is that from Vetta?

  2. I’m loving this outfit and am a long-time fan of your blog! Wondering if you have any guidance on how you found their sizing to be for these pieces? Their size chart looks fairly standard but the models the sizes are wearing seem to be different (their size 4 model is wearing a Medium bodysuit, which corresponds to an 8/10 in their size chart).

    1. Hey Julia!
Our mistake on the site- oops! Thank you for bringing it to our attention. Jax is actually wearing a size small in the bodysuit. (The size medium she wore was for the jumpsuit, due to height + length) What’s your typical go-to fit? Our sizing is typically pretty standard thanks to a little bit of stretch!

  3. Again you are giving me Fall-lust! Love this outfit and the print on the skirt is sooooo pretty for fall

  4. I love that whole look! Yes, rust trench – where?/???

Also your necklaces – where to buy?

    Thank you

  5. First of all, your hair looks awesome! It’s great you are bringing awareness to some new brands. I also need more options for occasions when I need to be a little more dressed up. I wish the skirt was available. Most skirts seem to have too much volume, I love the flattering a-line and length of this skirt. Hope they make more!

    1. Thank you so much Eleanor, for the kind words! It’s such an honor to be able to share brands like Fauxgerty, who are committed to ethical fashion. We need more brands like them! As for the skirt, maybe shoot them an email and see if they will be getting more. I know we had a few of them at the pop-up. <3

  6. Great to see one of my favorite ethical brands on Seasons + Salt! Love the pairing of the Dede and Vetta rust trench.
