the Weekly Rundown: Summer Sales + Pre-Fall

Seasons and salt blog

LIFE:

Do you/will you allow your kids to play (organized) tackle football when they get older? Recent studies have shown that playing tackle football at a young age has been linked to traumatic brain injury. Based on snippets of conversation, and now this article, I get a sense that the ‘acceptance’ of the sport is changing.

12 Reasons I Like Owning Less, a very compelling case for minimalism.

ETHICS + FASHION:

Did you know it’s common practice for luxury brands to burn their excess goods?

The brand ABLE recently made a bold move and started publishing the wages of their lowest paid employees. Read more about why.

STYLE:

I am usually never one to be drawn toward day robes, much less, floral day robes, but Lindsey is making them look good!

In case you missed it, I published a rare Friday post featuring 3 creative ways to style new looks out of your summer closet.

SUMMER SALES + PRE-FALL STYLES:

One of my local favorites, Reifhaus, currently has their summer sale underway. You can find my very favorite (and first!) jumpsuit at 30% off right now. It’s one of my easiest, and most favorite items to wear!

Hackwith Design House is running their summer sale through the weekend, two of my closet staples, the basic shift dress and wide leg jumper are 30% off.

Everlane launched the Day Glove in a handful of new colors that are making me excited for fall, including Tan, which seems like the perfect nude and Burgundy. I own a pair in the Mocha and I really like them! Also, on Everlane watch, I’m keeping a close eye on the ‘Washed Black’ denim launch coming later this month. I feel like they kind of read my mind on that one!

Lastly, catching my eye for fall: ABLE’s take on wide leg denim, in a blue wash. The styling isn’t super cute in these photos, but I think these jeans have a ton of potential. I almost ordered the Military Jacket but I can’t justify another jacket in my closet at the moment. But dang, it’s cute!

  1. Andrea, Thanks so much for sharing my post! Your three ways to switch up summer clothes was my fave post this week. I’m definitely feeling a little tired of shorts and a tee, so it was great to think outside the box. Cheering you on!
