the Weekly Rundown: ‘A.I.’ Influencers + a Super Cute Week of Outfits

Seasons and salt blog

ETHICS + SUSTAINABILITY:

This article kind of blew my mind – have you guys heard of artificial intelligence influencers…. as in, made up, digitally created people with massive followings on social platforms? Me neither. It brings a whole slew of questions to my mind.

Five creative ways to reduce waste, this is especially great if you love to eat out.

I’ve been mulling over this zero waste hair care article, and feeling particularly inspired about the ‘more is less’ styling approach.

STYLE:

A week of outfits – all of them super cute – along with a great tip for staying on track when it comes to clothing budgets.

I recently got to try out the Candela Utility Dress, c/o ABLE, you can check out my full review over on IGTV. Just a quick plug for IGTV here. I am always resistant to new apps/features like this, because I’m turning into an old lady. But, when I was prepping to do a new video review for you guys, the lightbulb went off, and the concept of posting a continuous video instead of one shot in 15 second intervals was really appealing! If you’re into that, just update your app, and you’ll be able to see my IGTV videos in the highlights section of my profile. End plug.

And don’t forget: my 20% discount code over at Grayling jewelry expires this Wednesday, July 4th. You can see my pics from their newest collection, and how I styled them here.

LIFE:

If you haven’t joined the 21 million people who’ve already done it, I highly encourage you to watch Paul McCartney give some fans the time of their lives on Carpool Karaoke.

  1. I am not able to access IGTV but would love to hear your thoughts on the Able Utility dress. Is there any other way to access your review? Thx! Lori

  2. So many great shares, thanks. I loved the zero waste hair care piece and the creative ways to reduce waste. I stopped blow drying my hair a year ago and still worry that it’s unprofessional or messy, but most days I’m really happy I stopped torturing my hair for the sake of making it straight. I want to live in a world where different looks are considered beautiful and I want people to love themselves as they are much more than I care about the way my hair frizzes in the rain and humidity.
And of course, Carpool Karaoke. I cried ugly tears during most of that segment. X

    1. I totally second that mentality! I want the same, to live in a place where different looks are considered beautiful. Oh man, I watched the carpool karaoke segment twice and cried both times! It was such a pleasure sharing it with my kids, especially my oldest who did her 3rd grade biography on Paul McCartney. 😊

  3. No luck. It looks fantastic on you – is it safe to say you love it? I tempted to pull the trigger but would love to hear your thoughts.
Hope you are having a great vacay!
    Thanks!

    1. Oh bummer! Yes, I love it! Wearing it right now actually. It’s basically like a sleeveless T-shirt dress. It’s casual, but the double V (there is one in the back) make it elevated. I love the shape as well, it’s fitted, but loose, like a true shift. It’s very flattering!

  4. Wow the CGI thing is terrifying. The lines between real and not real are going to get blurrier and blurrier

    1. Agreed! This AI bot movement is crazy! I wonder how many of the people following them realize they aren’t real. I wonder how many people I follow that aren’t real. Might have to do a little reality checking soon!
