What I Wore: Featuring Grayling Jewelry

Hi guys! For my latest installment of What I Wore, I am trying out something a little different. I have the honor of working with Portland-based Grayling Jewelry – and this week I’ve been incorporating some of their jewelry into my daily looks.

I am really into Grayling’s new FINE collection which features beautiful, minimal 14K gold-fill and .925 silver pieces at a very accessible price point. It’s very lightweight and the kind of jewelry you can weave into your personal collection and wear again and again. Founded in Portland by Katy Kippen in 2009, Grayling goes beyond style with its commitment to local manufacturing, and using toxic and nickel-free metals to accommodate people with sensitive skin.

Here are the pieces I’ve been wearing:

Diamond Hoops in 14K gold-fill, Retail: $68 ($54.40 with my discount code!)

Double Band Ring in 14K gold-fill, Retail: $48 ($38.40 with my discount code!)

Crescent Circle Necklace in 14K gold-fill, Retail: $68 ($54.40 with my discount code!)

Grayling is the sponsor of this post and they are offering Seasons + Salt readers 20% off any order with the code SALT20. Keep reading to see what I wore this week and how I’ve incorporated these items into my looks. Bonus: see if you can guess which one ended up being my favorite!

MONDAY:

Cardigan no18 (one size), Babaá Knitwear | Top, Miranda Bennett (similar) | Cheeky Jean (27R), Everlane | Pons, by Avarcas | Classic Shoulder Bag, Cuyana

Style Notes: I’ve developed a great mom uniform this spring, with the help of this sweater! It compliments almost everything I wear it with! I’m going to be sad when the rain returns in the fall and I have to tuck it away (it’s a little too bulky for under a coat). I like this look because of 1) the colors, cream, blush, nude, and denim and 2) the shape that these jeans give, aka: long legs.

Jewelry Thoughts: To me, this necklace is made to be paired with my other favorite necklaces. But for the first day, I wanted to wear it on its own, to feature it in its solo beauty.

TUESDAY:

Petra Crop (M), Elizabeth Suzann | Painter Skirt, c/o HDH, sold out (similar in wide leg pants) | Sandals, Everlane (a few seasons old, similar) | Classic Shoulder Bag, Cuyana

Style Notes: Today, is nearly a repeat color palette of Monday! This skirt is so easy to wear, and it makes almost anything I pair with it look good. The color is pretty bold, but I think having a non-neutral keeps things interesting for me. I am re-thinking my bag choice. I would love to hear what kind of bag you would style this look with!

Double Band Ring, c/o Grayling Use code ‘SALT20’ for 20% off

Jewelry Thoughts: I always struggle with rings because I don’t have the daintiest hands. It used to bother me, but I am instead choosing to embrace them, because 1) I can’t change them and 2) I got them from my Grandma, and my hands remind me of her. I loved her dearly, and it’s honestly really cool to see family traits live on in your own person. This ring works well for me because it’s adjustable. That means it easily fits without any of the pinch. I love the style of this ring because it mimics two stacked rings.

WEDNESDAY:

Denim Jacket, Levi’s (similar) | Pima Micro Rib Scoop Neck Tee, Everlane | Sailor Pants, (8 -runs small), Jesse Kamm | Madrid Sandal, Birkenstock | Classic Shoulder Bag, Cuyana

Style Notes: I love this look. These pants are such a statement. They basically are the outfit. They are still quite a bit looser than my other Kamm’s and, honestly, I wish they fit a bit more snugly. I tried drying them, but that didn’t really help. I am considering having them tailored, but feel a little bit scared. I’ll keep you posted (if you’ve had your Kamms altered, let me know how it went!). These t-shirts have become a staple for me, and I love the way black looks paired with these pants.

Jewelry Thoughts: When I was browsing through Grayling’s FINE collection, these earrings were the first item to catch my eye. They are a chic, geometric take on basic hoops. When they arrived, I was thrilled with how light they felt on my ears. I really like these because while they are simple, they are the perfect subtle boost to any ‘basics’ outfit.

THURSDAY:

Clyde Trench (S), Elizabeth Suzann | Air Dolman Tee (M), c/o Everlane | Jeans, Vintage Levi’s (501) (similar) | Day Heel (10.5), Everlane | Classic Tote, c/o Cuyana

Style Notes: Hello exciting Elizabeth Suzann day! I ordered this beautiful jacket seven weeks ago after trying on my friend Allison’s. I loved it on her, and immediately went home and sold everything in sight so I could order this beauty. This duster/trench/jacket takes the cake on nearly every other one I’ve owned. I feel like goldilocks who finally found the one that is ‘just right!’

I love the canvas. It’s sturdy, but not too thick. It’s light, but textured enough I’m not worried about stains. The bracelet sleeves are perfect. Very, very excited to wear and love this piece for years. (Already brainstorming how I can take it into fall and winter.)

Jewelry Notes: Layers! I love layering necklaces. I was eager to do this from day one, and I love how it turned out. The key to successfully layering necklaces is to embrace the tangle. And bonus, the way this necklace is made, with the circle fixed in place on the chain, means the clasp will never rotate to the front!

FRIDAY:

Clyde Trench (S), Elizabeth Suzann | Tank, c/o Yala Designs | White, Modern BF Jeans (28, with altered waist), Everlane (probably more like this fit) | Madrid Sandal, Birkenstock | Classic Tote, c/o Cuyana

Style Notes: Riding high on this jacket bliss! To say I’m excited for this one is an understatement. I’m embracing an earthy and mixed whites/creams palette and I love it. It feels modern and fresh.

Jewelry Notes: I know I already said this, but I just adore the geometric shape these earrings bring to an outfit. Today I am wearing the Crescent necklace on the longest setting. The chain is 16 inches, but has a 2 inch extender at the end of it. It’s nice to have options when pairing the necklace with other necklaces or shirt necklines.

SATURDAY:

Caftan, c/o Emerson Fry (maxi is sold out, see the shorter version) | Sandals, c/o Adelante Shoe Co., made to order in Guatemala (so comfortable!) | Sunglasses, Ray-Ban

Style Notes: As I mentioned last time I wore this, sporting a caftan or statement dress is so easy, it should be a crime! It equals instant comfort and instant chic.

Double Band Ring and Crescent Circle Necklace, c/o Grayling Use code ‘SALT20’ for 20% off

Jewelry Notes: I told you I love layering necklaces! On Thursday, I wore my necklaces (the Crescent and a diamond necklace my husband gave me several years ago on our 5th anniversary) at about the same length. Today I layered my Crescent a few inches longer, for a bit ‘tidier’ of an approach to necklace layering. I think this is my preferred way to do it! Note the Double Band ring making an appearance too!

SUNDAY:

Jacket (M), Patagonia | Cotton Tank, old Everlane (similar) | Clyde Work Short (6) in Linen, Elizabeth Suzann (similar in cotton) | High Top Cons, thrifted (super into this USA made option)

Style Notes: Not the typical style you can expect from me! It was Father’s Day and we decided to pay a visit to Trillium Lake, and hike around the perimeter. I originally was going to skip this day, but I decided to take some photos at the very last minute. I do my best to make my blog as ‘real-life’ as possible, because I want to show you guys what I really wear, and how I do it. Well, nothing says ‘real-life’ like today’s outfit! And you know what? I still rocked my jewelry, because that’s how I roll.

Crescent Circle Necklace, c/o Grayling Use code ‘SALT20’ for 20% off

Jewelry Notes: Today I layered my Crescent necklace shorter than my diamond necklace for a little change of pace. I love wearing jewelry no matter what I’m doing (sometimes I even wear necklaces to bed) because it makes me beautiful, and (simply) adorned, even in the most understated outfits – like a tank and shorts for hiking.

In Review:

STYLE FAVORITES: Wednesday / Friday – Working those brown tones and no-fuss looks!

JEWELRY FAVORITES: The Diamond Hoops! It’s no coincidence that my two favorite outfits from the week included the Diamond Hoops. They really take the look up a notch, in a non-over the top way. And best of all, they are super lightweight, and I cannot feel them in my ears at all! It’s almost like wearing studs.

I want to conclude with a big thank you to Grayling Jewelry for partnering in this fun styling experiment with me. If you’re in the market for something understated and chic (and very layer-able!) be sure to check out their FINE collection! You can shop the entire Grayling line with my discount code – SALT20 – through July 4th! Thank you for supporting the brands that make Seasons + Salt possible, and make this world a better place!

  1. Great outfits per usual! Glad you posted your weekly roundup, I always look forward to it!

Such lovely pieces! My favorite is that ring!
    Have a great weekend! Xo!

  2. Lovely choices! Especially the ES jacket! What size did you get? Are you going to layer things underneath in the colder weather? Love the earth tones. The jewellery is beautiful.

    1. Hi Jackie, I got a Small in the jacket. I plan to wear long sleeves and some cashmere sweaters under it in cooler weather. I imagine, it will be hard to wear in the dead of winter though!

  3. I always enjoy looking at your weekly outfit roundups. I think your Tuesday outfit would be lovely with a warmer-toned and/or slouchy bag– something bit more casual than the structured black bag.

    1. Yes, you are so right Emily! Thanks for the feedback! The color part stumped me, but I hadn’t thought about structure, great observation!

  4. I just received my Clyde vest and am loving it! I have been eyeing the Clyde jacket in natural for sometime but settled on Vest bc I was not sure how warm it would be during winter. Would love to hear about your experience during winter months!

    1. I hope you love your vest!! That is probably such a sweet piece. I’ll keep you posted. It will probably be hard to wear in the winter because of winter jackets, but I will for sure wear it in the fall and spring!

  5. I had the waist taken in on my American denim Kamms & my ranger Kamms at D&Z. The denim was perfectly done. The black they made a nip tight in the waist, but it’s manageable. Perfect fitting Kamms are amazing! They were irritating when they were too big.

      1. No it doesn’t. I think D&Z removes the waist band and shortens it, then moves the belt loops, and darts the pants as needed. If you want pics of the alterations, feel free to send me a DM and I’ll snap a few. Have a great weekend!

        1. Good to know!! I’ll probably take them in for an update soon! You’re totally right, well-fitting Kamms are so good!
