Seasons and salt blog

STYLE:

The third piece rule, have you heard of it? I’d vaguely heard of it, but these examples make it clear as day.

How a self-imposed dress code changed her life. (Do you have a dress code?)

If a linen dress is on your list for summer, you can use my Pyne & Smith discount code (SEASONS10) for just a few more days (expires June 21st). See how I’m wearing my midi dress, plus the dress I wish I had for summer.

BEAUTY:

I’m not a big makeup person, but I love reading about others’ beauty routines. Home organizer Clea Shearer shares a peek at her products, along with tidbits about life as an organizer to celebrities’ closets.

DESIGN:

I am always amazed at the creativity of folks on this earth, thinking outside the box, pressing boundaries and creating something new. I am inspired by the bold decor of this Pasadena studio, including a patterned ceiling and neon light!

TRAVEL:

I’ve never traveled alone, but I hear it’s an amazing experience. But how do you take pictures that actually have you in them? Five tips.

The place in question requires their employees to wear a third layer, despite spending lots of time outside conducting college tours in the 90°F heat. It definitely adds instant polish to an outfit, but it may not always be practical!

    1. That would be tough! I am guessing lots of light vests would be in that person’s future! There IS something sartorially interesting about wearing a third piece that is not demanded by functional need…
