Hello! Happy Tuesday! I’m so glad to be here sharing a new installment of What I Wore with you. Whenever I take a few weeks off, I always miss it so much! I won’t lie, the daily photographs can feel like a chore, but I miss the studying of outfits and the conversations that happen here around getting dressed. We all have to put clothes on each day, and I find observing other people’s style so interesting. Hence why I do what I do here.
We’ve been having cool weather around these parts, so I’m still in spring mode – pants, bare ankles, and cardigans in the morning. Here’s what I wore.
MONDAY:
Cardigan no18 (one size), Babaá Knitwear | Alta Top (S/M), c/o Only Child | White Wide Leg Denim (28), c/o ABLE | Mariella Mule, c/o Nisolo | Sunglasses, Ray-Ban | Canvas Tote, c/o Everlane (similar)
Style Notes: I should be wearing these pants at least once per week, I like them so much. They feel great on and make a simple outfit even better. Per my usual, the color palette dominates the pieces I choose to wear. Currently, I’ve been enjoying lots of white and lighter tones.
Style Score: 10
TUESDAY:
Boxy Blouse (S), c/o Vetta | Clyde Work Short, Elizabeth Suzann | Tan Pons | Canvas Tote, c/o Everlane (similar)
I am busting into my shorts early in the season, because, honestly, I’m a little tired of pants, and really want to wear some linen. I ordered these black shorts from Elizabeth Suzann last summer and they came so close to the end of the season, I barely got to wear them. So, I’m starting early this season, despite the fact that my legs are not my favorite feature (hello spider veins), but life is too short to hide your body, right? At the end of my life, am I really going to care what other people thought about my legs?
Style Notes: This shirt has proved trickier to style than expected, mostly because of the color. Tan doesn’t seem to work as well with all my denim. When I first styled this top, a reader suggested pairing it with shorts, and that’s where I got today’s inspiration. I love the way it makes my shorts seem less casual! At first I had clogs on too, but it just felt too dressy so I went with Pons, which made the look ‘just right.’
Style Score: 9
WEDNESDAY:
Air Dolman Tee (M), c/o Everlane | Tank Wrap Dress (6), c/o Everlane | Sandals, old Everlane (similar) | Necklaces: 1, 2
I am really enjoying this wrap dress, more than I expected. It’s classy, chic, durable, and a bit unexpected for everyday wear. It works well with a few different tees in my closet too.
Style Notes: I’m shamelessly repeating this outfit from a few weeks ago. I changed it up slightly with different shoes and layered necklaces.
Style Score: 10
THURSDAY:
Cardigan no18 (one size), Babaá Knitwear | Pima Micro Rib Scoop Neck Tee | Clyde Work Pant, olive in cotton twill, Elizabeth Suzann (similar in cotton canvas) | Tan Pons | Bag, c/o Jacqui (blog post coming this week!)
I am not sure how I survived last spring without this cardigan? I have worn it SO many times already this season. It’s the perfect shade (ivory) and it’s warm, but not too warm. I love the shape: chunky, but not oversized. It’s truly unlike any other styles I’ve seen. I can’t recommend this one enough!
Style Notes: Olive seems like a neutral to me, but it definitely gives me more pause when styling, it’s not super straightforward. However, I am a big fan of how it looks here with tan, ivory and black. Do you wear olive? If so, what colors do you pair it with?
Style Score: 9
FRIDAY:
Cardigan no18 (one size), Babaá Knitwear | Army Shirt, husband’s closet (similar, size up) | Jeans, Vintage Levi’s (501) (similar) | Clogs, No.6 (similar) | Classic Tote, c/o Cuyana
Style Notes: This is a classic Andrea look. I couldn’t be any happier than I am when wearing vintage jeans, clogs, and a cozy cardigan. It’s not glamorous, and it’s modestly stylish, but it’s truly me!
Style Score: 10
SATURDAY:
Alpaca Cardigan, Zady, (sold out, similar option in cashmere) | Striped Tee, thrifted Ralph Lauren (very similar) | Black Denim (27), c/o Everlane | Clogs, No.6 (similar) | Bag, c/o Jacqui (blog post coming this week!) | Eloria Necklace, c/o Loop Jewelry, (use code Seasons10 to save 10%)
Style Notes: Almost a repeat of Friday, but not nearly the same winning qualities. I think the black-navy-cognac pairing is a miss. And I would prefer at least one piece that was a little less slim/form fitting than all the elements above.
Style Score: 7
SUNDAY:
Alpaca Cardigan, Zady | Model No.17 Dress, c/o Pyne & Smith (use code SEASONS10 to save 10% on your order through June 21st) | James Oxford, Nisolo | Classic Shoulder Bag, Cuyana
Style Notes: This is one of my favorite looks from the week. It’s experimental (for me), slightly nonconventional and a bit librarian. I felt simultaneously brave and comfortable in it, an unusual combo for me. It was also the perfect outfit for a 53 degree day. I donned a light rain jacket when the clouds broke to keep raindrops at bay.
Style Score: 10

FAVORITES: Friday / Sunday
I’d love to hear your thoughts on the Clyde shorts (sorry if I’ve missed a review of them!). How do they hold up through the end of the day?
Hey Krystal! I like them okay. I wish they were a little more high volume, which makes me think maybe the Florence short would have been better.
I like pairing olive with light blue. Also, thank you for your blog. I come here to find cool sustainable places to shop.
Oh, great idea on the light blue! Thank you Lilah! I am honored to play a part in your sustainable shopping journey!
So many wins! Your color story on Monday is so pretty. And pairing oxfords with that gingham dress is genius!
Thanks LO! I was pretty stoked about the oxford combo too. They are such an interesting, functional shoe, I hope I can put them to better use than I have been!
I love Monday’s colors! And I also like to pair olive pants with light blue or chambray. Sometimes even a soft pink. What size do you wear in the Everlane sandals? I saw a lightly used pair on Poshmark and I generally tend to wear the same shoe size as you.
Hi Joy, thank you for the tips on olive color pairings! As for my sandals, these are 10’s but they are from 2015. I am usually a 10 or 10.5 in Everlane shoes, which run a bit narrow.
Did you know that Zady has closed up shop? I hit a link here and a big message came up saying they have closed. :( I love all the outfits you have posted here, definitely Monday is my favourite because of THOSE PANTS!!! I love them! And that big beautiful bag you will be posting about in the near future by Jacqui? Sigh! Dreamy!
I did! I left the link up because I think it’s interesting to see that 1) they closed, and 2) they are redirecting their efforts to ‘the cause’ in a different way.
As for the pants, they really are fantastic! Really comfortable and cute with everything. The Jacqui post is coming tomorrow!
I have SO much olive in my closet – it’s one of my favorite colors to wear! I pair it with tan, ivory, and black like you did above, but I also love to pair it with light grey, chambray/light denim, black & white stripes, rose/blush, and rust. I think your Clydes would look cute with your Alta top.
Thank you Rachel, sooo many options!!
I’m itching to get one of the Only Child Alta tops, but I’m not sure about sizing. You say yours is a S/M, but it fits loosely (and beautifully). Do you recommend sizing down?
Also, how comfortable are your ES bottoms? I’m quite curvy, so I’m nervous about taking the plunge. :)
Hi Helena! I am usually a small or medium in most brands, so taking a S/M was true to size for me in the Alta top. I would stick to your true size. My ES bottoms are GREAT. I sized down in the Clyde pants, (this style is from the last generation) so the waistband is a little tight over my bum when I pull them on. If I had stuck to my true size, I don’t think that would have been an issue. Hope that helps!
The gingham check dress looks like it would work well for a librarian, especially one in public services. Not only does it have pockets, but the length allows one to reach for high shelves or bend low without showing anything you don’t want to.
Totally! I love thinking about wearing that dress as a librarian. Sounds kind of like a dream job!
I love this week! Even Saturday is really simple and chic. Also loving the rust and white combo. I recently got the rust shorts from Everlane and am loving them. They’re a bit short but it works for where I live. I would also kill to wear a sweater every now and then. It’s so hot here that I haven’t been able to wear pants in over a week. I am going to start stalking Noihsaf for that cardigan for “winter” :)
Haha, great plan Mel! Hope you find one. Glad to hear you like your Everlane shorts, I haven’t tried them yet!
I miss my olive Clydes!! I loved a good burgundy/olive combo, but they went surprisingly well with black & white print, too. I second the ideas above too. That being said, if you ever decide to part will them, girl, holler at me!!
What happened to your Clydes Brandi?!? Oooo, love the idea of a b/w print combo. And for sure, I’ll totally hit you up if I ever part with them.
They were 8s and always falling off of me, because I didn’t follow the size guide and instead ordered my normal size. I ended up selling them but in hindsight wish I would have tried to take in the elastic first. My culottes are 4s which fit much better, but I’m keeping my eye out to replace them if I get the chance.
Ahh! I feel like there is kind of a learning curve to finding the right ES sizing! Hope you get your Clydes soon!
