You may have noticed there’s a new partner listed over on the side bar of Seasons + Salt. Have you guys heard of Matter Prints? They’ve been on my radar since hearing about them from my friends Leah and Ellie, and I was so excited when they reached out to be a part of the Seasons + Salt community! This post is not sponsored by them, but they did send me a jumpsuit to style for you guys. And because they’re pretty darn wonderful, I wanted to tell you all about their company! But first, this awesome jumpsuit.
[ jumpsuit, c/o | jacket (similar wash) | clogs, c/o | purse (love this similar option) ]
I am someone who resides almost always in the land of solids, rarely do I wear a print, save stripes of course. But when I saw the All Day Jumpsuit in this awesome black and white print, I loved the look of it. The key to wearing bold prints and still feeling true to my personal style, is to stick with monochromatic schemes. I love the black and white geometric shapes going on. If it were in color, it would feel too busy for me.
HOW IT FUNCTIONS
I won’t lie, when I first pulled it out of the packaging, I was a little perplexed at how to get started. The back is pretty open and there are two buttons on each hip. After a few quizzical looks I figured out that the best way to put it on was to pull the pants on as normal (with the top sort of flopping in front) and then crouch down and put the top on (they are separated across the back seam of where the shirt ends). Then I used the two button configurations to get it snug in the right places. The subsequent times I put it on, it was a snap.
Then came time for the jumpsuit litmus test: how to use the restroom. The first two times I wore it, I took the top off and pulled down the pants (sorry if that’s TMI!). By the end of the second day I realized there was enough separation between the top and bottom that I could actually drop my drawers (if I was already sitting) to use the facilities. Sounds strange, but works like a charm.
Each time I’ve worn it, it’s been a compliment magnet. Which always makes me feel good, even though I don’t dress for other people. I love a good jumpsuit for all the reasons most of us do – it’s an outfit in one piece, and is slightly less girly than a dress. The next time I wear this I might try adding tennis shoes and leather a jacket.
The All Day Jumpsuit comes in two sizes, 1 and 2. I’m wearing the 1, and I’m toward the end of the range for that size.
WHY MATTER
It’s hard to find pieces as unique as the ones Matter stocks. And even if you could, I would make the argument to shop with them first. Here’s why — The beauty of Matter is that they believe in slow style, slow production, and slow design. Very contrary to most of the fashion industry. Their pieces are created to be worn year-round, rather than following a traditional apparel calendar. This jumpsuit is great in warmer temps, up to 80 degrees or so. It has a lot of airflow in the back. I expect it would also wear well under a long sweater coat in cooler temps. Don’t worry, I’ll test that one out soon!
The production and design team at Matter Prints have created and refined a small number of designs, opting for quality over quantity. They have a handful of methods for product testing (including listening to customers!) and are always working to bring their garments to the fullest potential. Their design process is six months, and includes working collaboratively with the artisans who create the fabric. The two groups team up to create the final pattern that is brought to life by artisans who create the textiles. It’s a beautiful and empowering process you can learn more about here (don’t miss the video!).
To sum up Matter in a few words: beautiful, heirloom fabrics in modern designs.

Super cute! I currently only own one jumpsuit (my first, actually) and have started traveling in it. I’m still surprised how versatile and comfortable it is, and it may be time to pick up a second!
Yes to traveling in jumpsuits! My Reifhaus one was so good for traveling because the linen fabric dried super fast when I washed it. It was always ready to go the next day!
Gosh I love that Jumpsuit! It’s something I would never have picked out if I saw it online, but seeing it on you makes me realize what a gem it is! I hadn’t heard of Matter so thanks for introducing me to them!

So glad to connect you Karin, they have such cute stuff! I didn’t realize how much I’d like a good black and white print!
Wow I really really love this! If I didn’t have to replace my floors after hurricane Irma flooded them (on the 5th floor! Howwwww???) I’d be purchasing it right now. Loooove it.
Oh Mel! I’m so sorry to hear that! So annoying! I take it you have power? Crazy that the water reached that high!!! Glad you are okay!
Yes – we never really lost power. The rain came sideways and collected in the track of our sliding door. It spilled in and pooled on the wood floor. Since we were evacuated, it sat there for a few days and really damaged everything. Sadness.
Oh Mel, I’m so sorry, what a bummer! I can’t even imagine. In Oregon, I feel like just the rain in general takes such a toll on our homes. In our first house we often battled moss and leaks!
Soooo cute!!! I love the way you styled it!
Thank you! I have fun everytime I wear it!
Wow, love this! I just visited Matter’s website, and OMG, so many nice items!
Yes! And their mission is just too good!
This looks amazing on you! I never would have thought to pair it with clogs, but the look is just perfect!
That’s so interesting, it was the first thing I thought to wear it with. What shoes would you gravitate towards??
I have no words for how great this looks on you! Seriously. Great styling and great brand intro. Thanks!
xo,
Paige
Time for another outfit for us to twin in?
Cute, Andrea! This is a good jumpsuit!! I don’t own one yet, but I’m going to look into this one a bit more.
Ah, thanks so much Cass! Thanks for reading! You of course would look super cute in a jumpsuit! Hope you find one you love.
GASP! I’m in LOVE! That is so cute! And I don’t mind the TMI parts because whenever I look at a jumpsuit I wonder about the bathroom.
Totally, it’s not worth it if using the bathroom is a struggle! That’s why I love my Reifhaus ones so much, it’s easy-peasy in those too!
Yeah I love jumpsuits and rompers, but I haven’t worn one since I had my son was a toddler. I had him in a public bathroom with me and I pulled my jumpsuit down to go to the bathroom, and he opened the door and ran out of the stall! I literally got caught with my pants down, amongst other things. This pattern is so cute though and it looks great on you. Good find! :)

Oh my goodness! That’s too funny! I know, going to a public bathroom with a toddler boy is unnerving – they’re SO unpredictable!!!!!
It looks amazing on you!! That jumpsuit has been on my wishlist for two years… but I can’t seem to ever pull the trigger. I love my other Matter piece, but I’m so worried about this not suiting my body shape. Any insight on how it may fare on an hourglass figure? I really do love it, but it’s an investment, and return shipping isn’t cheap either (I had to do that with their dresses…) So nice to see it on you!
Hi Marine, great question! I think it would work well for an hourglass figure because it has that nip at the waist. I would study the size chart and compare it to your measurements. Hopefully that would give you a good idea. Also, there are two buttons on either side of the waist, which gives three configurations for how tight or loose you want the waist. Thank you for the kind words! xx
I absolutely LOVE this on you! I think an all nuetral wardobe of solids gets kind of old to me- so this feels so refreshing and interesting! I’m curious to see how much you wear it and if it feels like you as the season progresses. It’s perfect with these clogs and jean jacket- so inspirational!!!!’
Thank you Elisabeth! I think you’ve nailed it, a good print like this feels very fresh amongst a closet of solids. The fabric is pretty light on this jumpsuit, I suspect it will do best in transitional seasons. Hopefully I’ll be able to wear it into fall!
So cute! I’ve never bought from Matter but their pants look sooo comfy and I love their prints!
I agree, love the look of their pants!!
loved the look of this jumpsuit, but disappointed with the sizing. The two sizes they offer don’t really seem to be much different and wouldn’t fit a size 10 or bigger :(
So sad
Hi Tess, I noticed that too, and thought it a bit disappointing. I will give that feedback to my contact at Matter. Thanks for weighing in!
How do think this would work for a petite size??
Hi Melissa,
I think it would work great for a petite size! As you can see on me it’s quite short in the legs, I think it would work well on someone who is shorter than my 5’7. It will probably be more roomier/oversized on the top than it fits me. I hope that helps!
I wanted to let you know I love this jumpsuit on you! In fact, your post prompted me to give them a try. I ordered the dress in this same print. It arrived quickly and it has the most interesting draping/cut in the back. I love it. I am glad I ordered the bigger size. I’m petite but definitely not thin but often can take a small size in many sustainable brands. I looked at the size chart and also considered it was coming from Asia and opted for the size 2 (I’m 5’1″, 138 lbs, 36DD, size 6/8). It fit perfect, the 1 would have been too fitted. I’d like to order a pants/jumpsuit later on but I’ll wait until I’ve lost some weight.
