I thought I’d share one more outfit roundup before I head out the door on vacation. This week is short, because, by the time the weekend hit, I was busy packing and cleaning and getting ready to head out of town. But here’s what we’ve got for the first five days of the week…
MONDAY:
Linen Shirt, c/o Everlane (sold out, similar in cotton oxford) | Wide Leg Crop, c/o Everlane | Sandals, Birkenstock | Bag, Madewell (responsibly made option)
Utilizing a few lesser-worn items in my closet today. This shirt is uber soft, but I often struggle with what to pair it with. It feels a little dark for summer; I’ve been leaning toward light colors this season. We’ll see if I can make better use of it in the fall. I saw that Everlane released a slew of new colors in these pants, including gorgeous tan and olive shades. If I needed pants to wear to an office, or some sort of professional environment, I’d totally snatch up another pair. For my casual life, they seem a tad ‘dressy.’ But they are very soft and comfortable, not like the pants I’ve worn to work in years past. A note on fit: If you are between sizes, I recommend sizing down. These pants stretch out quite a bit after several hours or repeated days of wearing them.
Styling Note: I was wearing my Birks around the house, and I was planning on changing to something else before we left, but when I saw my reflection in the mirror I was surprised by how much I liked the look, so I kept the Birks on even though they’re kind of unexpected!
Effortless Factor – 8.5
TUESDAY:
Dress, sold out (similar style in white silk) | light cardigan, c/o IMBY, sold out (similar) | Sandals, Birkenstock
Easy summer look – on repeat. You’ve seen it 1000x, I’ve worn it 1000x. Still love it.
Effortless Factor – 10
WEDNESDAY:
Shirt, c/o Only Child | Pants, Lauren Winter ($20 credit on Garmentory if you sign up here) | Shoes, Veja |
I’m so pumped about these shoes! The sustainable footwear brand Veja popped on my radar quite awhile ago. I can’t remember how I first heard of them. I love their unique Euro styles. However, I wasn’t in the market for a new pair of sneakers until just recently, and I finally popped for a pair! I love that these are all leather, so they will hold up in the rain, and be warmer than some of my other favorite canvas sneakers. And sometimes, in the winter, my style feels so serious with all the boots and sweaters, I think these will be the perfect balance! A note on fit: I took my usual Euro size in these, and they feel great, and I have plenty of room in the toe area, which makes them good for walking!.
Effortless Factor – 9.5
THURSDAY:
Dress, Sotela | Bag, Madewell (responsibly made option) | Sandals, Birkenstock
Today is the day I started to feel a tiny bit bored with my summer wardrobe. I’ll admit it, I’m ready to start mixing things up! Simple dressing has been wonderful lately, but I’m starting to get excited to experiment with layers again.
Effortless Factor – 10
FRIDAY:
Shirt Dress, Everlane (same in blue stripe, similar in dark green and black) | Bag, Madewell (responsibly made option) | Sandals, Birkenstock
Today was a two outfit kind of day. For the first half I wore this shirt dress, which is awesome because it’s an instant outfit (that almost always attracts a compliment). I paired it with my Birkenstocks because 1) I wanted the overall look to be casual, and 2) These shoes make my feet so happy and I want to wear them as much as I can before fall comes.
Later in the day I put on something warmer because we were heading out for the evening. More on that in Thursday’s blog post!
Effortless Factor – 10 (I didn’t even iron it!)

FAVORITES: Friday
LESSONS: I don’t feel like I had any big takeaways this week. Mostly I noticed that I’m starting to get a little tired of my simple outfit formulas. I guess it’s good that I live in a place with seasons where I get to experience a variety of temperatures to dress for! I’ll try to keep this perspective in mind when I feel like whining about the rain in the future. ;)
I particularly like the Friday outfit. This dress is really nice.
Have a nice day.
xx, much love, Renaud
Thanks so much Renaud!! Best of luck with your new blog!
Monday and Wednesday are my favorites!
And Veja is amazing. Love how you’ve styled them.
Thanks Emily! It sounds like you like the wide leg pants as much as I do! Yes, I can’t wait to break these Vejas in and wear them all the time.
I love the stripes and birks! Also wondering if u know of any shops in Portland that make/carry clogs? I’m finally getting around to gettin some but really want to try them on first!
Hi Emily! WM Goods carries No.6 clogs! Those are good for our weather because the wood bases are lacquered! I really like No.6 clogs, but they are usually too narrow for me. :/
I also like Friday’s outfit! I ordered the white Vejas (with the gumsoles) from Madewell and can’t wait for them to arrive tomorrow – you’re making me more excited for them!
Gumsoles! Love! I love how retro sneaker styles are back in! Excited for you!
Your pant game is SO GOOD – I know I say that everytime but wowza! I really love the cropped wide legs, Wed is amazing with the sneakers and the top was really unexpected, I’m so use to seeing you wear solids so the print just added an extra something. Your stripped dress is the same way, it adds a lot of variety to your style but seems very you at the same time. Have fun on your vacation! :)
Ahhh, thanks Katie! I hope you’ve been having a great summer! So happy to see you stopping by. :)
Those sneakers are rad. Hope you have a great vacation!
Thanks Lo! I am pretty pumped for them!!
I totally feel you about summer style. It’s frustrating for someone who lives in all-summer weather to make outfits because they are so often the same. I love “winter” because I at least get to throw on a denim jacket or light sweater. I do love Friday’s look – so cute, and am loving those wide leg pants with the new Vejas!
Thank you Mel! I so badly wanted to wear the Vejas with the dress on Friday too, but I need to spend more time breaking them in! Plus, it’s still a little warm for sneakers.
Hi! I just wanted to come back and comment bc I finally sold off a ton of things that weren’t getting enough use in my closet and actually made enough to purchase the Kamm pants!!! I got them in Midnight and they are soooooo dreamy! I remember you said you were thinking of that color so I came back to tell you that it’s the most amazing blue. Not too washed out or “chino” and has a bit of texture from the dying. They are really lovely
WHAT?! That is SO exciting!! I ordered a pair before I left for my trip, hoping to get them next week! And I ordered them in Midnight! Glad to hear you love the color! The structure on those pants is to die for, right?!
Yes! I can’t believe how much I like them. They are simultaneously sleek and laid back and chic. Now I just have to figure out if I want to get them hemmed. I’m 5’3″ so they’re not cropped on me
