Barbecues, road trips, big adventures, warm evenings — summer is filled with some of my favorite activities. Many of the best memories of my childhood happened in the summer: endless sleepovers and evenings spent outside with daylight that seemed to stretch well into the night. As an adult, I treasure lingering dinners with friends (bonus: when their kids get along well with our kids) and live for the family fun days when the five of of us hit the town or hit the road for something we all enjoy.
Each year I like to make a bucket list of activities for us to check off before this precious time of year is gone. So far I have: swimming on Sauvie Island, strawberry picking, a trip to the drive-in movie theater, and maybe an overnighter to the coast or central Oregon, among other things.
Naturally, because I love styling clothes, I’m always thinking about what I’m going to wear. Today, I’ve teamed up with one of my favorite shops to style some looks for summer. Belvele is a San Francisco based retailer, who specializes in ethical fashion, with a commitment to only feature garments that have been responsibly sourced. They let me select a handful of summer items from their shop to play around with and style for you guys. These pieces are all so good, I’m tempted to buy some of them for myself!
THE TANK:
When the temperatures hit 80 and above, I am all about the tank tops. Plus, I like to avoid farmer’s tans if I can help it. Normally, I rotate a few t-shirt style tanks, but this reversible, button up tank is a better-looking alternative. The texture on this cotton top makes it so good (and forgiving of spills or stains).
This top would look great styled with old Levi’s cutoffs and Birkenstocks, perfect for a day of picnicking and park frolicking. Or, throw it in reverse, with the buttons down your back and slip on some black jeans. You’re date-night ready.
The Lola Tank is made from 100% cotton gauze and manufactured in the USA. The fit runs true to size, with a hip-skimming hemline.
THE JUMPSUIT:
I love a good jumpsuit. Getting dressed with one piece of clothing is so easy it should be a crime. I love the cinch-waist option on this otherwise loose and flowy, wide leg cotton jumpsuit. Often, on summer days, I want the ease of a dress with the functionality of pants or shorts. But pants are usually too hot, and shorts are often too short. A good jumpsuit is always the solution. I’ve worn jumpsuits on some very hot days, and the loose fit and breezy material makes them a very comfortable option.
This beautiful, reversible jumper would be perfect to wear while hosting a backyard BBQ or friends for a dinner party. Just add platform sandals and some twinkly gold earrings and you’re ready to go. Or it’s a great option for a day trip with the family. Pair it with flat sandals, and simple neck scarf and you’re set for the day. With the option to wear with the crossover detail in the back or front, it’s truly two looks in one garment.
The Allison Jumper is made from 54% linen and 46% cotton making it breezy and wrinkle-resistant. It runs true to size and features a cropped inseam. Manufactured in the USA.
THE PERFECT SHADE OF BLUSH:
Warm color palettes are taking over this spring and summer. Blush and rust shades are popping up everywhere and they are a warm welcome from all the black I wore over the winter! I’ve tried out two other blush tops in the last few months, and this third option boasts the prettiest hue of them all. The color is warm and pink-tinted without actually being pink. But it’s not so neutral that it would wash out skin tones, rather it has the opposite effect.
This blush top would pair perfectly with these white, cropped wide leg Ava pants (also sold by Belvele!). I would throw on huarache sandals and call it a perfect summer outfit. The soft, lightweight fabric of both garments works well for keeping cool, while also looking pulled together. Additionally I would wear this top with old cut off shorts and converse for a day of berry picking or chasing my kids at the park. The combination of a crew neckline and no sleeves makes this a fun shirt to experiment with – you can embrace the toughness or soften it with more girly accessories.
The Blush Sleeveless Top is made from 70% organic cotton and 30% non-toxic hemp. It’s soft and drapey, with a slightly sheer finish. The fit is slim and relaxed, and the hemline hits a few inches below the hip. Manufactured in the USA. (Also available in white and black.)
And now for the exciting part…
Belvele is giving away a $100 shop credit to one lucky Seasons + Salt reader!
