Well, what a week it has been!
We had a last minute (in town) move on Wednesday that has left us in a whirlwind of tape and boxes. I am finally sitting down to plug my computer in (yes, I have one of those old-fashioned kinds that doesn’t work unless it’s plugged into the wall. ;) )
But, I’m back! And thank goodness I snapped a few quick pictures of one of my first Winter Capsule outfits before all the chaos. (I promise the full capsule reveal is coming soon!) Before I dive into outfit talk, I want to take a moment and share something with you.
I have not worked out one single day this month. Remember when I talked about setting goals, and how for every day this month I was going to get up early and exercise? Well, I have failed miserably. I could give you a list of reasons as long as my arm, but I realize if I want to do it, I just need to make it happen. And while I am figuring that out, I wanted to be transparent with you.
However, just because I’ve failed at my goal so far doesn’t mean I’m giving up. Tomorrow is a new day darling! And tonight is a new night to get to bed a little earlier.
The Outfit:
I am so excited to share this look with you. These are my vintage Calvins that are one of two items I thrifted for my winter capsule. I hunted high and low for some sick 501’s, and I came out with these instead. I really love how the hemlines of denim are losening up. I am seeing straight leg everywhere and I love it. It’s a refreshing change and welcomed variety from my closet of skinnies. I love the chic look of this loose old denim and it totally feels like pajamas when I am wearing it. This merino wool turtleneck is the other item I thrifted for my winter capsule ($5 at Goodwill my friends!). It took me a few wears to get used to the feel of fabric that close to my neck again, but I love the 90’s vibe and the extra warmth factor is fantastico. My black booties are from Madewell last year, these are similar, or try these for a more ethical option. Bag is also from Madewell last year, it has held up really well under heavy use for the last twelve months, but here is an alternative bag that is ethically made.
Cheers to a good week lovelies!
I can’t imagine the craziness of a last minute move (with 3 kids)! It’s no wonder the workouts took a back seat. How is this week going? Loving the 90’s vibe even though I totally can’t believe that’s a throwback type trend already! Hope all is well.
Thanks girl! This week is going MUCH better! I don’t know how you get so much done with 4 kiddos!! Amazing! Enjoy your break from school!
finally catching up on your blog (its one of the few I still read!) i’m loving all your cool weather clothes. we are having a cold “moment” here in LA and I’m struggling not to buy ALL THE SWEATERS. i have to keep reminding myself it’s temporary. http://www.thismomsgonnasnap.com
You’re the sweetest. Sheesh, yeah! Who has time to read blogs anymore! It sure can be difficult. Yes, I love sweaters, but I feel like it’s so hard to find ones that don’t pill!
Your outfit is so late ’90s chic. I’ve been watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer and I’m getting super into late 90s/early 2000s fashion.
Haha, thanks Leah!! My husband I watched Scream on Halloween (I’d never seen it!) and oh, the 90’s fashion in that movie had me taking mental notes! So fun!
