5 Questions Every Conscious Consumer Should Ask – If you’re like me, and mentally planning out any winter additions to your wardrobe, this is a must-read before you buy! Number one is a question I am getting better and better at asking myself, and I feel like it is making a difference in my wardrobe.

Budgeting Like a Parisian – If you’re going to read any of my links today, be sure it is this one. The blogger in an American ex-pat living in Paris, and she shares Parisian women’s different approach to wardrobes – not shopping for sport, among other things. A very interesting read. And, I’m ready to move abroad, ok?

Speaking of Europe, have you ever been to Rome? Back in my carefree, kidfree days my husband and I spent some blessed time in Italy. I was a little overwhelmed by Rome, in it’s physical bigness and historical vastness. I wish I’d had this handy quick guide to take with me when I traveled there.

Any knitters in the bunch out there? I have knit on and off over the years. Sadly my needles are in who-knows-which box in our storage unit. Like I have free time right now anyway! This is one of my favorite all-time scarves. My mom made it in muted deep blue-turquoise for me a few years back and it is always my most worn scarf each fall/winter. This year I am hoping ‘Santa’ brings me one in oatmeal heather. (Thanks Mom!) If you’re a knitter, you should check out the pattern, it’s free, simple and super cute!

I made the Pioneer Woman’s Perfect Pot Roast for dinner on Monday. It’s pretty much the surefire way to make a roast. The first night we ate it with sourdough bread and roasted cauliflower. The second night we ate it with baked potatoes. The third night we ate it in pepperjack quesedillas with roasted brussel sprouts. I think all that red meat helped keep the chill off our bones during this first chilly week of the fall season…

Have a great weekend!
