This probably goes without saying, but I can’t get enough of Adele’s new song. She nailed it, and all I want is more. And I kind of want her nails. And her multiple hoop earrings. Gimme all the 90’s. Somebody pass me a bodysuit.
Do You Stalk Your Ex Online? Haha, what a great post! I’ve totally done exactly what the author did before, just not with an ex’s name.
I finally clicked over to check out Vivianna Does Makeup because I heard she was going to be on The Lively Show. I’ve heard of her before, but never felt compelled to check out her videos until now. Maybe it’s her british accent, but I am hooked! I mean, it’s not like I have a ton of time to sit around and watch vlogs, but the two videos I watched made me want more. This 2-1 makeup video was superb and now I totally want this eye shadow.
Buying Designer Goods While On a Budget. Fran does it again. I love her candor and how transparent she is about her spending. I do not have a very big budget for clothing (in fact it’s getting smaller!) but I have a lot of nice items and I try to keep it that way. Saving and buying selectively is key!
Speaking of moola, we are doing something very grown-up this week. We have received the second portion of the military enlistment bonus and instead of treating ourselves we are taking all of it (after tithes and a Christmas budget) and paying off debt. Putting it on student loans is so boring and unglamorous. But I am reminding myself that making this payment is like making a payment towards a future vacation. It’s a payment towards the life I want to have of being debt-free. Dave Ramsey says that half the battle toward being debt-free is your mindset, and now I am starting to understand that. Finally, the idea of making extra payments on debt is starting to rival the idea of buying another pair of shoes. I guess that’s called maturity, right? Thanks for letting me be transparent and vulnerable here – it’s definitely out of my comfort zone!
And finally, Happy Halloween from me and my little Batman. :)
Thank you so much for including my link, Andrea! I’ll be honest, sometimes it’s hard to put myself out there when it comes to financial issues – everyone has an opinion! But I know what works for me financially, and if that can motivate others to stick to a budget or a goal item, then it was worth it.
And congrats on the “boring adult decision” – you guys won’t ever regret that choice!
Thanks so much for your encouragement Fran! :)
I sporadically stalk my exes still. And sometimes my ex’s ex. =/
Paying off debts is not boring and unglamorous. Just incredibly wise and better to get it out of the way first :)
Thanks for the encouragement! I wish more people talked about paying off debt.
And the ex-stalking, um yeah, I think we’ve all been there..
