We’ve been having a lot of transition weather this week. Days that start out chilly and in the 50’s then turn sunny – almost hot – by the afternoon. Makes getting dressed kind of tricky, but I’m starting to realize it also means the best of both worlds. It’s warm enough that you don’t quite need a jacket for most of the day, but still cool enough to wear long-sleeved tops and jeans. Ankles on display? No problem, it’s warm enough for that. I love the look of sandals and pants and this is one of those rare and short lived times of the year when the weather is perfect for it.

I’m not normally a lacy top or lacy anything kind of gal but this shirt is one of the few ‘lacy’ items I’ve kept around. Paired with distressed denim it feels a little less girly to me. The ultimate topper to this outfit would be a cool leather jacket. Speaking of leather jackets, how do you guys feel about fake leather jackets? I have one and I love the style of it but I’ve had it long enough that I can’t see it with objective eyes. I am starting to wonder if it’s passable or does it scream teeny-boper. Any of you guys wear ‘vegan’ leather jackets? I definitely would like a real leather one but it’s just not in my budget right now.
The onset of fall means I am entering into my busy season for photography so I might not be posting as much here as much as I’d like. I’ll probably keep it to a minimum of at least two times per week, but hopefully more. The fall season gets so busy so fast. I’m trying to preserve my family time where and when I can.
I hope you guys are enjoying some weather like us in the Pacific Northwest. The sun is out and the leaves are crunching under my feet and I love it.
Love the top, Andrea! As far as vegan leather goes, I think it can be done well. Anthropologie had a great vegan leather jacket last year that I almost pulled the trigger on. Granted, I’m not sure where it was made as I was less conscious about that back then, but it was truly beautiful! For me vegan leather is all about the feel and the sheen. If those two things are right, the jacket won’t read teen whatsoever. Happy hunting! Xo
Thanks for weighing in. I really would just prefer leather for the benefits of being leather, but I happen to have a “vegan” one already in my closet. Good points about the feel and sheen!
I love this top! I also don’t wear a lot of lacy, girly things, but this looks so cute paired with the distressed denim and sandals. Perfect balance. I have one faux leather jacket and I like the look of it, but I do feel it doesn’t breathe very well, so I get super hot in it. I’m not sure if that’s just this specific jacket or the faux aspect?
Good luck with your busy season – I hope you can squeeze in some outfit posts – I love them!
xoxo,
Paige
Yes, I think that is part of why I don’t like my faux leather jacket it does not breathe or move with my body like real leather wood. Thanks so much Paige, I’ll try to post as much as I can still! :)
I too have a fake leather jacket – I’d been planning to save up for a real, soft, lovely one … then spotted a fake one, purely by chance for £19.99 and grabbed it!
It does squeak more than leather [!!] but apart form that it’s a pretty decent ‘fake’!
Your outfit is perfect – completely something I’d wear – I love it!
