Fall purchase #1

This dress! It’s actually the second thing I purchased for fall. The first thing (which I will share later) I snagged a few months ago because I found it at a crazy good price and I felt good buying it off-season because I knew it was on my fall list. The third item I haven’t purchased (still saving, yo!).

Back to the dress. Have you guys heard of Brass Clothing yet? I somehow found them on Instagram and was instantly hooked by their minimal, yet beautiful offerings. Reading about their close connection to the factories in China that they work with sealed the deal. After that I followed them on Instagram, but I wasn’t quite in the market for one of their dresses until they released this one, the A-Line. I loved the modern-classic look of it, and knew instantly it was something I wanted in my closet.

Almost right away I contacted the girls behind Brass about a blog collaboration. Because I believe in them and their mission, I really wanted to share it with you guys! They are working to create beautiful basics that make it easy for you and I to get dressed in the morning. This, while working directly with the manufacturer to ensure high standards in production – for the people working there, and the garment they are producing. The icing on the cake: direct to consumer pricing, aka, no middleman. Kind of like another company I love, Everlane.

The thicker material and longer sleeves make it a great option for fall/winter. It’s a beautiful ivory color (let’s hope I can keep it that way). If feels super comfortable to wear, and I feel like I could style it a million ways. I’m thinking black leather jacket and black heels, or flannel shirt + d’orsay flats, or statement necklace and nude heels. The dressier side of my closet has been lacking and I hope this piece breathes new life into it. I am excited to take it around the block a few times this fall and, after I do, perhaps I’ll have a more in-depth review for you guys. I hope you enjoy how I styled it here and best of luck at putting together your fall wardrobes!! I’d love to hear status updates on how it’s going. :)

*For this blog post collaboration I purchased this dress at a discounted price, but as you can read above, it was all my idea. :) Thank you for supporting the brands that support ethical manufacturing processes and this blog!

    1. Thank you Nicolle for saying that! I always want to transparent with you guys, that’s part of what makes blogging rewarding for me. :) Thanks for reading.

  2. What a beautiful piece, and from an ethical company to boot! Thanks for the intro to this brand, I hadn’t heard of them before. This would be a perfect dress for the office.

    1. Yay!! I am so glad to share with you Stacy. I think they are a great company, and I am excited to see their future offerings as well. :) Hope you get a dress.

  3. Yay! I am so happy to see you collaborating with Brass! I love what they stand for and their collection is awesome. This dress looks incredible on you and I love how chic it is paired with a denim jacket and boots. You’re so right though, it has endless potential. xo

    1. Thanks Paige! Sometimes I feel I style better when I am sitting at my computer than when I am standing in front of the closet. Trying to change that! ;)

  4. Beautiful! I think you must have mentioned Brass in a previous post, because I pinned like 3 of their dresses. My casual black dress bit the dust this summer, and I’m eyeing their Band Dress and Shirt Dress.

    1. Kristan, those are the two other dresses I was eyeing! They both look so cute. I imagine the shirt dress would be great for fall. You’ll have to let us know if you get one of them! :)

  5. This dress looks so beautiful on you! What size did you purchase? I’m thinking of purchasing and I think we’re sort of similarly sized…Thanks!

    1. Hi Jeannie!

I got a small, and it is still a generous, loose-ish fit like I prefer. :) I’m 5’7 and typically wear a 4/6 and I’m small busted. Hope that helps! :)
