Hot Wx Look No. 2

Seaons-and-Salt-2Seaons-and-Salt-3Seaons-and-Salt-4  [vintage Levi’s, (similar, similar + made in USA) / top, Nordstrom, (similar + made in USA) / Birkenstock Gizeh / bracelets, Madewell, Bauble Bar / tote, West Elm (similar in recycled cotton with my life motto!)]

The dog days of summer are continuing here in the northwest, and today I am sharing my second hot-weather look.

I lived in these cut-off Levi’s last summer, and I am doing it again this year. They are too big, and all kinds of droopy and sloppy, but I just can’t stop. They are DIY’d and you can read more about what I did here. They would probably look cooler if I added a few more decent-sized holes, maybe show the pockets a little (gasp!). If you haven’t made your own favorite cut-off shorts yet, I encourage you to go do it before everyone buys up all the mom jeans from the thrift stores. Don’t wear them with flip flops though or you’ll feel like a beach bum, but maybe that’s your jam and then I’m okay with that. If you’re in Hawaii.

Black and blue is one of my favorite color combinations to wear, even better when it’s navy and black, I like how it feels effortless. This top may seem like it’s begging for a statement necklace, but I chose not to add one because sometimes it’s nice to be a little unexpected.

Happy hump day friends!

  1. Hot weather is the only weather in Texas for about 5 months of the year, so I feel you. My enthusiasm for my summer capsule is rapidly dwindling as the summer goes on and the temperatures are only increasing!

I also DIY’d my favorite cut-offs and I definitely went a little overboard with the distressing- last year they were perfectly distressed and this year they’re falling apart! I had to go diving in the thrift store piles to find another pair of Calvin Klein mom jeans to chop up for next summer!

    1. Kate, I don’t know if I could handle hot weather for 5 months! I used to be a Texan when I was little, but after 20 years in the NW I’m a total Oregonian now. And yes, my enthusiasm is dwindling too! Good point about the distressing, I’ll exercise restraint if/when I do it!

    1. Oh to be Parisian… such is the trend right now. I have never been to Paris, but I must say I like the current influence on trends right now! Very chic! :)
