the Weekly Rundown | 6.20.15

Seasons and salt blogHello friends and happy weekend! I’ll be a little more succinct than the last edition of the Weekly Rundown. Here’s what’s been on my mind this week:

1) The Unexpected Benefits of Being Stuck. Other people’s stories are fascinating to me. Here Branden Harvey shares how he went from being stuck in a rut to creating his own opportunities as a creative. There are some good take-aways and, as always, I’ll read pretty much anything on Donald Miller’s Storyline blog.

2) Are You Lonely, Mama? Spot-on advice from one mama to another, with a great reminder at the end.

3) Six Myths About Buying Ethical Clothing. I have a friend who doesn’t buy anything made in China and he’s done that for years. I used to think he was nuts and that it would be completely impossible to do so. But I am slowly learning it is not as hard as we think to buy ethically-sourced clothing. Here are six myths that might be stopping you.

4) FashionABLE. Do you want to make a difference in other peoples’ lives? This awesome company believes HOW our stuff is made matters and they believe WHO makes our stuff matters even more. They are working to create sustainable business for more women in Africa. No, they didn’t sponsor this post and no they did not give me anything to write this. I just get really excited when I find a company that offers well-designed products and a mission I can get behind. I am eyeing the Mamuye Tote for myself and I think this clutch in black is super gorgeous. And I’m pretty sure my husband would love this. Read more about the women behind FashionABLE here.

5) How to Find Not Provided Keywords in Google Analytics. Pardon me while I get all bloggy/techy on you for a moment. If you’re not a blogger or a website owner, feel free to skip this one. If you are a website owner, STOP! I’ve found a little pot of gold for us to share. You know on Google Analytics when you’re checking your SEO trying to find the keywords visitors use to get to your site and the biggest percentage is always tagged as (not provided)? Totally frustrating! Well, here is a quick hack to fix that. It’s even pretty easy to do. You’re welcome.
