Taking pictures of myself in various outfits and posting them on the internet feels like one of the most vain things I have ever done. I am SO not a ‘selfie’ person. In fact, I’d rather be the one taking the photos than the one in them. But for some reason it’s so easy to relate to other women over clothes, so here we are. Plus, I love clothes, and the exercise of regularly building outfits and photographing them is helping me train my eye for what I like. This helps keep myself out of the slump of daily ‘easy’ dressing during these busy days of mommin’ it up.
In the effort of being honest with you, like I talked about in this post, I want to tell you NOT to buy this bag. I bought it after crushing on the much nicer, Madewell one, but only because I could purchase it immediately, instead of waiting months to save up for the Madewell one. I wanted instant gratification. I had seen other bloggers using it, and I thought, ‘well this looks cute enough.’
It’s been almost a year now, and guess what? I hardly ever use it. It’s rubbery, too stiff and not nearly as nice as the high-quality leather bag I was first crushing on. Sure, it looks cute in pictures, but I purchase items to function beyond just “cute.” I don’t want to own an item that looks like something nice, I’d rather it actually be something nice. I may be 32, but I am slowly realizing that it’s much better just to wait for what I really want because delayed gratification can be even better than instant gratification.
Cheers,
andrea
