[graphic tee, Anthropologie (similar) / DIY vintage Levi’s shorts (if you’re feeling lazy) / bag, Madewell / watch, Seiko]
These are my BFF shorts that I mentioned in this post. They may give me a bit of ‘dumpy butt’ but I don’t care. How does the saying go- “messy hair, don’t care?” Well I’ll just go ahead and apply that to my sloppy shorts. They feel like pajamas. Last summer, when I was just a few months postpartum and most of my shorts were too small, I decided to try and DIY some vintage Levi’s like I had seen on Instagram on some cute teen-ager. (That –dressing your age– is an entirely different topic for a different day!) I scoured the racks of “mom shorts” (before mom jeans were a thing) at Value Village until I found these circa 1990 gems. Of course I promptly bleached them, trimmed them and cut holes in them. And then I wore my new DIY shorts 90% of the summer.
We had our first nearly-80 degree day this spring and I don’t even have to tell you what I wore. ;)
I am currently working on an older vintage, higher-waisted pair. They literally reach new heights that I am not sure I am ready for! More on that later. For now, here are some resources in case you decide to create your own DIY shorts. It’s so easy, I wouldn’t even call it a DIY. More like a buy and trim?

Happy hunting!
Love love love your shoes. My roommate had them in college & I never liked them, but I’m a huge fan now. Fantastic look. :]

Thanks Carmen! It’s so funny how fashion often comes ’round full circle.
BTW, these are so cush, it feel like I am walking on air! :)
Love the whole look! And totally random, but the hat is perfect – may I ask where you found it? Just came across your blog yesterday and as a fellow busy mom, I love your take on contentment and style. :)
Thanks Natalie for the feedback! I hate to say this, but the hat is from Target. (I’m trying to get away from buying ‘disposable’ fashion items.) It’s pretty low quality, but it’s very useful! Just be careful because it creases easily. I’ll let you know if I find any higher-quality (but not so expensive) alternatives.
