Wow, now that was a herculean effort, getting all my clothes on the same page. Literally, this page, for you guys. Getting them all on the same metaphorical page was rather easy. But with this little beast I created in Photoshop, we’re not messing around anymore. I am out of energy to write, so I’m just going to give it to you straight. About half of this was rolled over from spring, one-quarter from storage, and one-quarter new (to me). Of the items I added for summer, I had 2 new purchases and 10 thrifted purchases (most of which were funded by sold/traded items from my closet!). One of my new items was definitely a splurge, but I am confident it will increase the impact of many other items in my closet.
The Breakdown:
Note: You’ll notice many of the items I linked to have a higher price point than your average $20 piece of clothing. This is because — where I could — I have linked to companies and items that are made in the USA, or are known to have the reputation of being sweatshop-free. This list is by no means 100%. Some of these are items I’ve had for a long time, before I was as aware. However, Instead of letting the prices scare you, think about adding 1-2 well-considered (and well-sourced) items to your wardrobe instead of a fast-fashion diet of as much as you can fit into your budget.

Whew! And there it is my friends. I am taking Friday off from the blog to take a giant nap, but I’ll be back Saturday with my Weekly Rundown, and we can high-five on Monday in my first outfit of the summer.
Cheers!
andrea
hello! just found your blog today and read through it all! :) love your quest for contentment and acknowledgment of the struggle in working towards it! i’ll be back!
Thanks so much Jane! Very happy to have you. :)
Awesome lineup! I have been lurking at your blog for a couple of weeks and I wanted to congratulate you of doing a great job of being honest and insightful about a capsule wardrobe. Your style is very similar to mine. Have a great week!
Hi Samantha! Thanks for saying that. Honesty and transparency is so important to me, and I’m trying to stick with it even when it’s not easy. Glad you came out of lurking!! :)
I love how much of your “new” is thrifted!! I never have that sort of luck. It looks awesome and I can’t wait to see the outfits you create!
Andrea, you’re making me very seriously thinking about living that capsule life! Would you consider helping show me the way?
Of course! I’d be happy to help however I can. :)
Hello! Love the summer capsule! I’ve been on the lookout for a pair of huaraches. Not sure if I’m ready to take the plunge financially before trying them on and seeing if I really love them on me. Know anywhere that has them in store?
Hey girl! I know Will Leather in Portland has some, but they are $$. It looks like AEO has some too.
Thanks! Maybe I’ll go try them on at AEO to see how they look….then save up for the real leather ones!
Sooo…can I come and steal a couple of your pieces for my summer efforts? :) Loving the chambray top, the graphic tee, denim vest, high waist cut offs and those new splurge sandals are the best! I really think it’s okay to splurge on a couple of things every season (if you can afford it, of course), in fact, I think that’s what you should do, because those items will bring out the best in the rest of your wardrobe. You can have the most basic of all dresses, pair it with some truly great shoes and have an outfit of dreams. The simple combinations are always the best :)
Looking forward to seeing the outfits you put together with this selection – my style is a bit more colourful than yours but I’m a huge admirer of neutralist looks. Can’t wait!
xo Kat
Thanks Kat! I totally agree, a well-selected splurge definitely can bring out the best in other items! So far I just LOVE those sandals! And that chambray top, it’s originally from Anthropologie, but I totally scored it at Goodwill for like $4 or $5. So crazy! I am looking forward to seeing your summer wardrobe!
so.many.cute.clothes and so little $$ I have dang it!! but there are some good price options in there! I am seriously loving the stripes and sandals. the seasons and salt ones are SO CUTE!
ahh i’m dumb I didn’t mean seasons and salt, that’s you!! haha I mean the last ones, the Birkenstock ones! *face plam*
Haha! Too funny! Thanks, they are some of my fav sandals! :)
What a great wardrobe, and how awesome to have it all on one page (for your own reference, too)! What brand are the olive green shorts? The ones you linked to are pretty cute, but don’t have the side cargo pockets yours does, which I really like.
Hi Sophie! Great question! They are ‘Staring at Stars’ brand, which is sold at Anthropologie. I thrifted mine though, so I am not sure how old they are. But they are my favorites!
Thanks for the kind comments on my wardrobe, I have totally referenced this page when picking outfits! :) It does make it a little easier.
